WTF...I can't bring myself to finish Thief 2

I finished T2X the other day and wanted to make some comments about the final level. It was by far the least impressive and most underwhelming level in their whole mod effort (or in any of the official Thief games). I was very disappointed. I was hoping for some huge ending mission with all of the Thief content distilled into a single level.

It was too short, completely linear and consisted of just one boring sequence. The "twist" was derivative and really not connected to the rest of the game in any way. It was combat oriented, and didn't even reward stealth. The delivery of the plot was extremely lazy. The level itself looked rushed and very unimpressive. The feeling I got was that they were bored of making the mod by that point and just threw something together as quickly and as effortlessly as they could.

Such a shame to finish the game on such a bad note. Many of the other levels were quite good, some very impressive.

Yeah, I agree. Seems like they wanted to make a Maw of Chaos tribute and had no idea how to lead into it.

Try to ghost once or twice, maybe a undead mission crypt or mansion.

It will kinda be a reload fest until you get into the (extremely cautious) mode of thinking you need, but it makes things tense as something very tense indeed.
Granted, some missions are not appropriate (very large ones for instance, at least until you find the routes and FoVs and can figure out when it's safe to run).
