So yeah... you set the mode at the start, and you can't switch in-between. No hybrid shenanigans here.

Can any owners dish out some opinions on how the game feels rolling with TBS?

Turn based is always the ideal combat mode for party based rpg. RtwP for me is too chaotic for encounter with large group of enemies.
