I note that it says it's only copyright from 1995 to 1998. So therefore, anyone who has it could release it. :smug:

(...) when it's really just their refusal to swallow their pride play by the market rules...
More than enough people with no pride, playing by the market rules, making games for the masses.
Yeah, because reducing prices some time after releasing your game is just one step from making Dragon Age 2, right?

Fargo just tweeted about Grimoire!
I wonder if that's gonna get Cleve some attention/media coverage, or at least some funding...

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
I'm putting in at least $25 of my money to Cleve's Indiegogo page. I'm just holding off for the demo and some Christmas gift money before deciding the exact amount of money I'll be spending for the cause. I'm considering the $50 or $75 tier. Can't go higher than that.

Angry birds. Not a shred of pride left in me :D

Twitter's not a very efficient communication medium. A lot of shouting, not much listening. There's this guy though at least:

And some of Fargo's influential friends might've picked it up...

Drama confirmed for start of december

It's probably not the best idea to offer a beta of vapourware until after funding closes.

Yeah, that's what it is.

Around 1000+ people have played a beta they claim appeared to be finished. 26 videos of gameplay on YouTube and you still think Grimoire doesn't exist.

Did your parents say anything about difficulty getting oxygen for you at birth? Because I can't believe anybody is really THAT slow.

NOBODY IS THAT SLOW. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO BE THAT SLOW. YOU COULD NOT SURVIVE OUTSIDE A 24 HOUR INTENSIVE CARE INSTITUTION IF YOU WERE THAT SLOW.

This is what most people think when you claim to have been working on the game for 17 years and haven't got more to show for it.

SLOW. HAVE YOU SEEN THE 26 VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE? ARE YOU AWARE NUMEROUS BETA TESTERS HAVE DECLARED THEY REACHED THE END OF THE GAME ON THIS FORUM?
YOU'D BE IN AN INSTITUTION WITH A SIGN TAPED TO YOUR FOREHEAD "SOFT FOODS ONLY" AND DRESSED IN A TUTU OPEN IN THE BACK IN THE DAY ROOM! SLOW!

Why so much yelling? Can't we all just get along?

Vaporware means that the game will never be released. It could be a complete, playable game and never be released and still be vaporware. To not see this obvious fact you would have to be some neanderthal with downs syndrome (both have similar features, so it can be hard to tell which is which) that is slower than old people fucking. Or driving. Or fucking while driving. You would just have to be pretty fucking stupid to not get this, OK?

If a game has been completed for a long time in a playable state and not yet been released it can sound to a lot of people like it is never coming out. I think that this is not the case and I plan to refinance my house to donate as much as I can to this noble, sane project.

SAVE THIS CHARACTER? NO.

Ahh ah ah, Asperger's Syndrome. Remember? We dumb homo fucks just can't categorise disorders correctly so we make-believe it's an autism spectrum disease even though it's totally not ok guize?

Laugh all you want about Cleve's "different" brain chemistry, but only a guy like Cleve could ever make this game. The unbelievable part of Grimoire isn't that it's been 17 years in development, but it's still 17 years in development. We might all end up as frozen, wretched corpses in the coming post-apocalypse, but Cleve will still be working on Grimoire. This project can never truly become vapourware because it's completely unfathomable that Cleve would ever stop development of Grimoire unless the game was released.

Who says releasing a game puts an end to development? :smug:

I'll donate if MCA demos the game, reviews and praises it. Otherwise, I'm going to assume this is fake and an elaborate hoax set up by a lot of people to get money.

It is what swallowing your pride leads to.
Swallowing your pride and admiting you're wrong is a quite noble thing to do, it helps you keep yourself doing what you like, while blind devotion to some black & white "golden underdog ideal" is a way easier way to end failing at white and resignedly going black...

It's fair enough that you think it is good and you like it or whatever. But you can't seriously believe that "noble" is about choosing the path of least resistance and getting by by compromising. That is the commonest thing.

All that time and no cutscenes or voiceacting? What were you possibly doing all that time?

Again, is not chosing the path of least resistance, is simply choosing another approach to your own path, a.k.a. STRATEGY! This whole debate was about lowering the price of a +3 years old indie game, do you really believe that considering "perhaps I'm mistaken and >$20 it's a bit expensive" it's the same as selling your soul to evil corporations & giving up all your ideals & pride? The only thing being compromised here is the developers ego, and that seems to be the problem....

It's a simple question. Do you want to make more money and get more coverage by lowering the price, or is keeping undedicated people away from your game more important?

Except Hans Asperger never described it as a form of autism. It's just another thing you creatures managed to mix yourselves up about. That seems to happen fairly frequently when you squint and try to think.

I believe in terms of division of labor, it would be better if you leave the thinking to Neanderthals and you guys stick to what you do best - porn and getting your testicles crushed for laughs on America's Got Talent. Scienmajistics and other such things may be a bridge too far for Saps.
