Why isn't "sarcastic chuckle" an option?

Never bothered to finish ME, just wasn't remotely as interesting as Jade Empire.

Waiting for blurring fix for Witcher EE...
FO3 feels like an exploration game rather than RPG (I get bored playing it).

SoZ pretty much wins by default, but it's a good game too, so my vote goes to SoZ.

Given that of those games released this year, I've only played Mount & Blade and am working my way through The Witcher... and given that M&B isn't anywhere near an RPG, I have to choose The Witcher by default.

^There you have it. Even the most rabid of Witcher haters have no choice but to admit that it is, in fact, the best RPG of the past, present and future!

Only TW wasn't released this year.

Ports and patches should really not be included in GotY considerations - we sure aren't consider ME PC or TW:EE on GameBanshee for the GotY lists.

Which means...

...This year didn't have any good RPGs

Tadaaaah!

Then I guess it's a misstake that the GOTY poll on the front page of Game Banshee clearly has TW:EE in the lead with 32.14% and ME PC a distant second with 21.43%.

's a poll, the GotY list is made by Buck, Westlake and me. We take the poll results on board, but they're in no way binding.

Last year we never considered Jade Empire PC, because it's a port. Same rules still stand here. If EE was a real expansion we might consider it, but it isn't. And ME PC is just 'nother port.

It's a pain, because I really have no idea who we're going to give it to then. Fallout 3?

Condom propaganda???

Why ask for vote 2008 rpg when there was no rpg this year.

I only see crap on that list.

Then why are you posting on a site that covered all of those RPGs this year?

What is this Dungeon Master ripoff?

That would be Wizardry, a cheap DM ripoff, made by a former DM developer, who travelled backwards in time, to make it before DM. And to add insult to injury, it's not even real-time.

Those devs really are nasty.

I guess they should release another extreme enhance edition patch next year just to win 3 streaks then :D
Doesn't look like any promising RPG is coming next year anyway

It's called "The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf" :D

And about best cRPGs this year - I have a little problem to choose any, because there are so many good cRPGs released in 2008. Alphabeticcaly:
Oh... wait... there are none*.

* - Thw Witcher is a great game but it was released in 2007, idiots.
