Tags: Bethesda Softworks; The Elder Scrolls IV: OblivionLoadedInc and Armchair General have both posted reviews (<a href=http://www.loadedinc.com/review.php?temp_view=review.php&game=ElderScrollsIVOblivion&id=684>one and <a href=http://www.armchairgeneral.com/articles.php?p=2587&page=1>two) of that one game you may have heard of, the popular with the swords and trees and so on. The first rates it 9.6/10 and the second 91./10. Here's some vile hyperbole from the Armchair General review because the LoadedInc one is pretty bland.
This is likely the most difficult game I’ve had to review. Not because it was hard to get a grasp of the game or how I felt about it but because every time that I thought about starting in on writing the review I had this urge to go and play “just a tiny bit more†to get a “better feel†for the game. Six hours later, I’d have to take care of other business rather than write the review. Even now I’m wishing I had uninstalled the game just so I could get through this. Or maybe all those people gathering in the living room are finally here to give me the intervention I so desperately need to get away from my keyboard. Here, at last, is a plausible theory for the success of the TES games: chronic addiction.
