Wiz stepping down as a game director, Daniel, Game Designer of Stellaris will take over. Wiz is heading to secret project.

Pity! Wiz did a really good work on Stellaris and turned that ship around. I do hear Daniel is pretty much his right-hand man and will progress the plans.

I just wish they went to the CKII office and asked "HEY BROS HOW THE FUCK YOU OPTIMIZE A GAME? KTHANKS!"

"And the worst part is that the child of a female Racket is a member of the Racket tribe, and once the Rackets infiltrate your society, they start infiltrating positions of power and only hiring other Rackets. Pretty soon they own all the banks and news media and then..." ~Excerpt from ROBOT UNIT-1488's data upload titled, "This Unit's Difficulties"

Shame it is a mod, though :P

Need the name of the mod. For research purposes.

Guilli's Planet Modifiers 2.2, December 24th.

Hard at work updating and improving the mod. ;) Doesn't make too much sense android entertainer jobs are filled in by pops, will be changing it slightly later. But yeah, I love pop jobs and the endless possibilities!

I don't get how you can expect better performance after this update.

Actual population TRIPLED and still need to be put in work spots, planets now got crimes, amenites and stuff.
Way more and different buildings and actual production.
2 more "basic" resources over minerals.
All the trade stuff with trade routes a la EU4.

Performance can only tank even more after ai get fixed and start to do more active things.

I really like the over haul of this game. It makes planet management interesting and not just a trivial chore as before. Riel approves!.

:yeah:

A pity about the AI, hopefully it will become more challenging in the future. On the other hand with the sheer changes to the game it is to b e expected that the AI would have to be redesigned. It didn't use too work too well when Stellaris launched wither.

Seems like the beta patch got upgraded again and they got a new performance boost.
Data indicates that the performance problem is being caused by trade mechanics.

Let's get modding!
What do you guys using?

Right now I have:
- Glavius' AI (one of his old versions before the beta patches)
- Flags: Emblems and Backgrounds
- Stellaris Performance Mod
- Stellaris Performance Mod - DDS Texture Tweak (optional part of SPM. Lowers texture resolution to, aparently, make the game faster. Seems its a 15% improvement)
- Brazilian Namelist
- Just Name Lists
- Outpost2 Music (my own little private mod adding the music of the game Outpost 2 to Stellaris. I wish I could upload, but I'm a filthy space pirate)
- Expanded Empire Colors

When I play, I play as white human only. Nazi flag mod. Genocide all aliens that aren't humanoid and passably attractive.

I think I'm going to get the megacorp mod soon so I can sell blacks as slaves.

Wanna know how Paradox increased performance in the beta? They disabled trade through gateways. Yup, they literally disabled a feature because they are failing to code the game. Lol.
I'm gonna deactivate gateways entirely in my game and hope that Fallen Empires don't build them.

Anyone try Barbaric Despoilers/Nihilistic Acquisition in this patch? Seems like now is their time, pop growth is king and now you can now fill your planets with fuckloads of pops. Seems like their thing would be to expand to their natural limits, with as few chokepoints as possible, fortify, and then start turning parts of the galaxy into their bitch-boys with constant wars, stealing their pops while filling planets, and once every available planet is filled to the brim with alien slaves, start conquering.

Hell yeah, time to pillage and enslave the galaxy.

One problem is that I've failed so far in finding portrait packs for groups of rough-ish humans, barbarians, gangers and such. Weird.

Lol the economic system is leading to funny situations

https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/a5ni2p/the_war_that_broke_the_galactic_economy/

I guess the Union of Soviet Socialist Regularities is a success of sorts in that I've destroyed galactic capitalism. Space commie run, joined a federation with two others against allied spiritualists and criminal conglomerate. Side note: if you win an expropriation war against a cartel all of the criminals in your worlds become unemployed so that's fun

Anyway one of my federation manages to piss off their robots so much they revolt. At the time I'm upgrading my fleets to pre titan tech so sit right and ponder maybe not being such dicks to the help

By this point my commodity trades have gotten...COMPLICATED so undocking a 40k fleet with multiple rare elements in upkeep is a big deal and I spend the two years it takes for my fleet to arrive rearranging the economy. I SORT OF fix it by the time I arrive but it's still pretty scary: fleet maintenance is burning 1k energy by itself and trades to sustain the rare elements 2500.

My planets start to grow out of their shoes but since I'm trading everything down to bare parity to pay for my fleet I have no minerals to spare, so they're getting overcrowded and pissed. Also my massive monthly trades have pushed every non rare commodity down under .5 so I'm slowly losing ground

The war itself goes fine, I'm massively outnumbered but they're broke so I make the robots take a Pyrrhic victory while losing a good 60k ships. I hurry and buy up the now cheap alloys, reinforce my fleet, cool one more run should..

Wait. EVERYONE in the galaxy is fucked now. The criminal conglomerate has almost all their systems occupied by pirates. The Khan's successors barely have 5k to their names. The other two majors are sputtering around dealing with rebellions and other stuff.

I realize then the horrible truth: by flooding the market with all commodities I've caused a massive deflationary depression across all of existence. No one can sell anything for profit now so no one can buy anything, and existing obligations are bankrupting everyone. Money is worth too much to spend now.

And I'm running on fumes. The only thing keeping me going is the brief trade freezes as I can't pay for a rare element and I get a bare month of revenue. And I'm two years away from a dock that will properly discount my fleet

And then the robots got another 100k in reinforcements

And then the gray swarm showed up at the gate at my border.

I have finally defeated galactic capitalism and we will all be equal in death

That's not communism. Deflation and debt is what fucked France before the revolution. He should ready his ass for a galactic Robespierre.
