  • In BG2, Core Difficulty, while not labeled as such, is implied to be the game's "Hard Mode". In IWD 1 and 2, Core Difficulty is labeled as "Normal". Or, at the very least, the explanation given is that Normal mode makes use of the core d&d rules.

I think BG II was made to be an gate-way RPG, while IWD I & II are more for the experimented crowd. In all honesty, difficulty settings in general are not ideal. Just make 1, and if people get filtered, people get filtered.

IWD was specifically marketed for its combat. Having combat be easy in a combat game is unwise. Having a narrative-driven game be too hard is also unwise. IIRC, there's some readme somewhere in the BG2 game files about how many people contacted their support asking for cheat codes.

pre-mass access internet is lauded as some sort of hardcore gaming paradise but Sierra was vocal about how not even half of their customers actually completed their games, retarded logic aside. Then you had Nintendo Power with full game guides. I think it also speaks of a different audience as well.
The Commandos-like "mini genre" has to be one of the most underrated and underappreciated ones out of all pc gaming history imo.

At the end of the day, RPG fans stay very silent when confronted with the fact that the average sports game, like, say, FIFA, have more game-changing stats than any traditional crpg.
Leon Goretzka, from Bayern Munich, claimed that Man City's star Erling Haaland kept "farting too much" in his general direction. Apparently, this is a common tactic used by the nordic player.
Let's make camp here. Kinda creepy that we have to rest at a crypt but what can you do. I'm gonna light these braziers. kinda weird that they're organized in a circle around this particular cofffin, but I don't think anything weird is going to happen if I just light them, right?

Just saw a youtube short that was like "old school memories" aimed at people in their 30s. They all involved things that happened in some internet website, mostly old youtube.

My parents are in their 70s.

It's sad to see them in this state.
Nikkas be complaining that Baldur's Gate 3 will have a turn based combat system, without realizing they are taking turns to post their criticism...

It uses like 5gb of ram on idle. It's disgusting, but what else can I do. However I've actually seen improvements in both normal apps and games. We'll see how it goes. I can always format it anyways.
Went to a tech conference today. I have to say I'm kinda surprised at how these people believe so ardently in certain things and swear up and down they will work. They have absolutely no connection with reality.

Actually, the AI/ChatGPT guy was the most ridiculous one. This woman who works at Oracle was all proper and professional, it was actually interested to watch. Then it comes this dude, I mean, he had like a valley girl-esque way of speaking, like Avellone's, and starts by explaining that there aren't enough women in tech.
    >Game is called "Minecraft"
    >You can craft as many mines as you want
    >Game is called "Starcraft"
    >You craft a grand total of zero stars

    Checkmate, atheists.
