It is a quite tragic story, he was just a random farmer with a family, before he became this bravado hero without his choice, all because of the uncaring way in which the higher entities in the Numenera universe use their power for their entertainment, which survives them to wreak havoc for ages. Very Planescape-ish, as he is the only chara written by MCA.

I will play this game sooner or later (probably later), so I won't read these posts until then. I'll reply in a year or two.

Okay, so spill it up, where does those abomination came from ?
Ok I finished the True Neutral ending on Persona Without the Heart and it was pretty freaking cool. Overall I really enjoyed the game and I’m glad I went back and did True Neutral. Neutral felt like something was missing, which I think is the point, so Atlus did a good job there.

Personally I though that SMTIV was much harder than SMTV, Demi-fiend and Shiva excepted. The Law dungeon and the Chaos dungeon in SMTIV had good mini-bosses and then level 99 bosses at the end of each. The Law and Chaos bosses in V were not 99 nor did they utilize their killer moves against me. Granted I played V on Normal, but IV locks hardmode behind a Normal playthrough.

I think that V’s addition of Guard, loss of Smirk, addition of Spyglass, and much greater customization of Demons made it a lot easier to trivialize encounters.
    dacencora
(I realize that Nocturne had some of these things too, but that game was much harder, imo)

Oh the other thing is the Leyline Fount and that you could instantly return to them at any time. That definitely reduced the challenge of resource attrition.
Ever tried the Horus Heresy card game? I'm only just getting into it but it seems pretty solid.

    How Solid is it?

Solid enough that I put down most everything else until I had a proper Demon and Mechanicum deck. Haven't spent a dime.

I figured, but it blocked my path to the rest of the floor. I just failed to escape the encounter (unlike others), so I got my ass kicked.

Man there is so much bullshit in this game, it is amazing. I don't wanna spoil anything but whenever the game introduces a new unfair mechanic you will unlock a skill to deal with it 1-2 floors deeper. Cool game design.

You know that guy, Charlemagne used as an excuse to exterminate german pagans in Germany, yeah it's his birthday now.
    Thac0
    Thac0
Charlemagne is kinda based, he didn't understand that the Saxons were structured into different tribes, and used an attack from an unrelated tribes to commit warcrimes against other tribes as he said they broke a truce.

I like @luis_cypher 's musings that Christianity has absorbed the Celtish and Germanic heroic myths and as such is the inheritor of the pagan spirit. Certainly fits the saint worship and all. But I need to spend more time thinkng about that one day.

Stella Glow is shit (not my taste). The tactical combat is very easy, slow and braindead. Often it is just enough to circle the enemies with your troops and spam basic attacks with sluggish animations. Worst srpg I ever played.
It has good music and a neat story, also some decent characters, but bad combat is a cardinal sin in an srpg.
Also you have to rub the clothes off a bunch of lolis in a bonding minigame.

So a clear no for Stella Glow (although I think Malamert would like it for the fanservice) and a clear yes for Radiant Historia.

Of course he remembers it but you are wrong about nobody giving a shit. He, Morgoth and Burning Bridges get together and masturbate over it weekly. There may be a finger in the bum or two.

Well just like when the Whites were thrown out of Africa the subsequent nonwhite countries collapsed into near irrelevance and suffering for a few decades, which is still ongoing today. So I think Karma took care of that already.
Playing Risen 1. This game is so good. Why on earth it got no recognition? it is a shame man. Where were the cocksucking media when we need them?
    Thac0
    Thac0
Risen 1 falls off harder than most games, because the scavenger hunt for the crystal gears is genuinly retarded. Still, it is much closer to the quality of Gothic 1,2 and Elex than to Piranha Bytes dark age.
    Ryzer
I checked Risen 2-3's credits and Risen 1's just to establish a comparison and I didn't see a difference. It was almost the same staff making it. They tried something different and it ultimately failed.
    Tacgnol
    Tacgnol
I think with Risen 2/3 they were trying to be more mainstream. Irony being the further they deviated from the Gothic formula the worse the mainstream reviews actually became.

They seem to have somewhat taken that lesson to heart with Elex, though that still makes quite a few allowances for "modern" design.
    Goodnight sweet prince.

I never planned to go forever. I roamed the net far and wide, and most places are even more shit than this one. But I needed a bit of a break, social media and even its tamer cousin, the forum, are so extremely addicting to me. If I don't take heed I become a rusty_shackleford

Compared to all other forums, this is the best site. During your time wandering in the limbo, I've been playing Elex. I liked it so far despite the jankiness. I'm only eager to Elex 2 and so are you I presume?
    Thac0
    Thac0
Definitly. It took me a bit to warm up to Piranha Bytes jank, but now I love it.
I didn't game too much in my absence, mostly read a bunch of stuff. Kant's critique of reason, Pynchons Gravitys Rainbow and The Sandman by Gaiman. Also I really want to be done with that so I can read this French comic Lagole Gon introduced me to Black Moon Chronicles.
