You guys play with any leveling overhaul? The vanilla system allows you to get OP too early
I've been toying with Kirbonated Character Progression lately. I'll check out the other mods later. You guys play with any leveling overhaul? The vanilla system allows you to get OP too early
Retroactive Health + either MULE or CCCP for leveling
Harder Barter + Anti Cheese for economy
OJ's Deleveler + Mort's balance mods + One of a Kind for balance
Harder barter + Buying Game makes very hard for you to empty shopkeepers' gold stash selling weapons. With max disposition and around 40 mercantile, a daedric tanto will net you around 800 gold or somethingdoes any of those mods tackle joined gold pile between training and trading, resulting in 'free' training when one can dump expensive weapons?
Yeah, you can still get "free" training with Harder Barter but it's at substantially lower quantities. Consistently using trainers will be enough of a drain on your gold that you'll find yourself running out, or needing to stop before you do. It also means that you can't easily afford enchanting services, even at high levels. You're basically forced to choose between utilising trainers or actually making custom enchanted gear, which means that progression is slowed down quite a bit and you less easily destroy endgame content. It will still happen (artifacts see to that), but you actually need to complete a fair amount of content to diagetically encounter good gear if you're not metagaming.Harder barter + Buying Game makes very hard for you to empty shopkeepers' gold stash selling weapons. Yep.It's amazing what this game can look like in 2024
You are better off not bartering with any merchant, but only with Creeper or the Drunken Mudcrab (if you can find him).Harder barter + Buying Game makes very hard for you to empty shopkeepers' gold stash selling weapons. Bartering with the Creeper is basically an exploit. You may choose to do so or not.

How is it an exploit?
That... would just kill the point of using the mods i recommended. Those mods are to add depth to Morrowind's economy and actually make mercantile skills worth investingYou are better off not bartering with any merchant, but only with Creeper or the Drunken Mudcrab (if you can find him).Harder barter + Buying Game makes very hard for you to empty shopkeepers' gold stash selling weapons. Creeper is easy to find and has 5000 gold available for bartering. Also sells and buys items at their base cost.
Because you're bypassing skill requirements altogether selling to a merchant that'll buy anything and have ludicrous amounts of gold? Also the mods i recommended nerf both creeper and crab, as they are basically free money.Bartering with the Creeper is basically an exploit. You may choose to do so or not.

Bartering as a skill is stupid, btw.Bartering with the Creeper is basically an exploit. You may choose to do so or not.

For the reasons you mentioned in your post. He trivializes bartering as a skill.

With the mods i recommended you'd get around 1000 shekels with high merchantile skill. Just getting 10k gold in vanilla economy is enough to make a character OP. Overhauling the economy including the scarcity of items makes looting more satisfying and gold rewards from quest meaningfulYeah, because having a Daedric Dagger worth 10000 and no fucking merchant who can give me at least 50 percent of its worth is really FUN!
Nigger, have you even played the game?Just getting 10k gold in vanilla economy is enough to make a character OP.

That amounts to pretty much nothing if you account for various item costs, enchantments and training...
I don't think you understand what overhaul means, that's why you have to abuse creeper to enchant shit and get butthurt because of itNigger, have you even played the game?Just getting 10k gold in vanilla economy is enough to make a character OP.

If only some certain skill could help you with that... oh wait, mercantile is stupid, right?
