BioWare pretended to ignore the backlash but internally they acknowledged it and the ME3 endings backlash and tried to rectify it in DA:I.
Well, we now know a lot more of what went on behind the scenes due to what ex-bioware employees have said over the years.

From the outside, all that became notable early on was that devs became more timmid or absent with their responses as time went on. Around the time of DA2 you still had quite a lot of Bioware devs posting their "2 cents" on BSN, but that dropped to hardly any by the time ME3 swung around.
It's also very, and I do mean VERY, noticeable how people like 'David Gaider' completely changed tone over the past 10-15 years. If you ever want to see a corporate shill at work, just look up his BSN posts circa 2010 and his current opinion on things. Dude did a 180 on most things.

it always gave me the feeling that, whatever few Bioware devs were active on early BSN, they were just drinking and spewing the corporate propaganda. Once all the bullshit they were parroting started sinking in, or were fired, they all went quiet and changed their line.

Didn't we say that for like the past 3 games or so? I don't think this studio will be closed down, unfortunately, at least not no anyway. I hope I'm wrong though.
I mean, if EA wants to keep funding such masterpieces, I am eager to see how this turns out. It's basically free entertainment at this point. So far it isn't looking good for them.

Only one gamer notably criticised it for faggotry.
The main thing I remembered was Anders suddenly becoming a faggot just because I was nice to him. (And then angry because I told him to fuck off)
This must be the first video game where this happened. Of course today its normal with BG3 and such. But back then if was a 'what the fuck' moment.
No. Same thing happened with that gay elf in Origins.

Steam has released the top sellers of 2024 grouped by revenue. Dragon Age: Veilguard is in the lowest category.
To elaborate, Purpleguard is apparently sharing the same revenue tier as TCG Card Shop Simulator, an indie early access game that appears to be made on a $50 budget, released around the same time, and remarkably has more and better steam reviews than the latest dragon age.

Lol get fucked EA.

I played the card shop sim, it's actually surprisingly decent but lacking content. Should've been MTG-themed instead of going with pseudo pokemon, but whatever.

Veilguard is right now a #245 bestseller on Steam, beating #246

But losing to #244

Interestingly, it also beats a cashgrab DLC-infested wallet-milker corporate slop at #253

I don't see it. Am I blind?
In the top sellers tab (the one that's linked) it's in the Bronze category in the leftmost column, only five steps ahead of Team Fortress 2.

You know, the now F2P class-based shooter that was released in 2007.

Going back to the page it looks wildly different to me, with Team Fortress 2 ranking significantly above Path of Exile 1 and Rimworld.

As such I am forced to conclude that this website is haunted.

A true retvrn to form. It's on the same tier as Ready or Not, poor man's SWAT 4.
At least RON tries to ape SWAT 4 whereas Veilfart is just pure diarrhea.
Btw I thought RON was more positively received. What happened?

It has about 170k reviews and 89% of them are positive, thus shitting all over Veilguard. Just how positively received where you expecting it to be?

All of this Dragon Age drama feel so depressing. Like reading news about some middle-eastern balding and fat degenerate apes raping an innocent, pure girl, forever traumatising her and soiling her innocence by their brutality and primitive mentality. An awesome setting being brutalized by savages.
I hope someday EA will decide to sell DA franchise and those who will buy it will make a new game where they make all past-origins sequels just a non-canon horror, a bad dream, like when main protagonist awakens and tells comrades
- Guys! GUYS!!! I had a nightmare! Female quinary who walk among us like equals! They are women but think they are males! Debasement of flesh, women had their breast removed with hideous scars! Some blood magic it seems...
- Damn, let our mages\templars check you for demon meddling, nothing good comes from dreams being invaded by such horrors, must be demons for sure! Come on, gather your belongngs, there's a Templar-Mage war raging on and darkspawn have been sigthed nearby.

Let's think here
1) The game modes like raid, active shooter and bomb defusal were cut after the EA, because the devs were too incompetent to make them
2) It took about a year to fix basic, fundamental bugs like the grenade launcher
3) Promised features, such as NPC having idle activities, were not implemented. The devs pinkie promise they were implemented, but they just don't work, and they have no idea why.
4) AI - for both suspects and squadmates - is wonky as fuck

There's more (retarded plot hyperfocusing on pedophiles), but the basic problem with RON is, it was made by incompetents
