One thing that would be cool is if you were able to make the program automatically snap into the same window as the game you're mapping, like GBC does. I have no idea what that requires, but if it's something that was possible, I think it'd be great and help for QOL when playing and mapping.
You mean to make the Gridmonger window "stick" to the emulator window? Yeah, that might be possible, although the normal use case is to open Gridmonger on one side of the screen and the emulator window on the other. That snapping behaviour might be handy with GBC when the mapping windows are small, but IMO with Gridmonger you really need to maximise the window vertically.

So yeah, I just use it like this; the two windows completely fill the screen:

No sticking, but you can tile windows with WIN+Left/Right.
Same shortcut on KDE, too.

Yeah I'd played with this a bit, and you're right, it likely works more nicely with a DOSBox or similar game. I had less desirable results with the Wiz 1 remake where I ended up manually resizing the window to kinda/sorta get it working since it's not in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Anyway, I'll play around with it more and see. I get what you mean re: space required for the maps.

Local asshole here, i distinctly remember something about Amiga collection and Christmas. Not rushing, but....
Wasn't gonna mention anything before february to get the end-beginning of the years pile up of expenses handled to be able to throw €€€ at the guy, but yeah assholes here await, open wide, ready for some 5" floppy insertions, figuratively and emulatively at least.
