the game also has no flyable airplanes, and dropped it in disgust.
I've heard Rockstar didn't put any airplanes on the game to avoid players repeat 9/11
It also didn't had a lot of the variety San Andreas got for the sake of Realism™

Yeah, GTA 4 was trash. They removed all the cool gameplay options they introduced in San Andreas, made the driving worse, made the city fuck ugly, removed the humor, picked shit music for the radio, etc. It was so bad it made me think I had outgrown that style of game for a few years.

Ok, my confession is: I don't like a single BioWare game, including the classic ones.
I think Knights of the Old Republic has it's charm, but in general it's extremely repetitive (especially near the end), and badly directed (like when you've almost beaten thee shit of Malak, but suddenly Bastila yells: "He's too strong, we have to run!") I was like "bitch, please, I'd kick his ass if the stupid game didn't take control suddenly".
I think both BG1 and 2 have very boring combat systems and weak exploration.
I was really trying to like these games, with little to no success.

I always optimize my parties and play glass canons.
Nowadays, I'd add a tank, just in case, so I don't have to reload.
The fact is, I like to wreak havoc.

My favorite games as a kid / early teenager were not RPG but shoot'em up and arcade games or older games.
Graduating from space invaders to Ghouls'n Ghosts and later Golden Axe, Target: Renegade, Ikari Warriors, Dynamite Dux, Altered Beasts, Thunderforce III, Battle squadron, Raiden, R-type...

I hated the first Real-time RPG i've played like Dungeon Master and still do.

I always thought Ultima games were autistic (NPC scheduled, useless loot, etc. )

Autism confession:

I played through the whole of Ghost of Tsushima without fast travelling. The devs actually block off the overland passage between the North and South islands to force you to fast travel. I swam.
I played through the whole of Assassins Creed: Valhalla without fast travelling, excepting Norway to England which is forced.
I played Starfield to level 14 without fast travelling once (apart from hyperspace jumps). I actually managed to use the pathetic land map in my pirated v1.0 copy to navigate.

I fast travel without remorse in Souls games, Souls-likes and Metroidvainias.

I could never get past the Black mountain mines in Arcanum. With 2 different characters....
I also uninstalled Pillars of Eternity after hitting the wall on the final boss.

I think Temple of Elemental Boredom is shit.
:negative:

I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. The game begins with a boring city Homlett which I always hated and still do. And then you get some fights that are super hard because your characters are all level 1 weaklings.

But there's a mod or something to skip that town now. So it makes it much more fun. Then the tough battles are like a puzzle to overcome. And then the characters start getting strong as I get to build them up. And once you reach the Temple there are lots of big battles to test yourself. And lots of boss fights late game which are a big challenge. I think it's worth playing if you can speed through the start.

Although, I found KOTC2 similar but better and I've replayed that about 4 times already and would gladly play it again even above TOEE.

Had a somewhat similar experience with ToEE. Tried to start a playthrough a few times until i forced myself to go further than Homlett, started to enjoy the game after gaining a few levels and slowly went insane from the sheer amount of bugbears.

Was losing interest again at this point until i discovered the joy of crafting. Suddenly i was looking forward towards every next encounter because each fight meant enough XP to craft another Holy Axiomatic weapon +3 for for my next party member or some other cool thing like Bow +3 that deals Fire, Lightning and Cold damage.

If you hate Homlett then I bet you hated the start in Divine Divinity. That was a rather odd town though, you could technically kill everyone.

Congratulations on having better taste in CRPGs than many neo-Codexers!

Hm, for me Aleroth was one of the best parts of Divine Divinity. Except for the catacombs part - too many levels, too many boring monsters. But the town itself has an amazing atmosphere.

The best part of it all was the cut-scene with the dragon rider.

Little reminder to play as a steel scorpion rogue, playing a mage is just terrible due to slow mana regeneration and fighter plays as diablo.

Weird, but I think archers are absolutely overpowered in every Larian game except BG3.
Divine Divinity/Beyond Divinity: archer is the only viable class, because warrior requires too many HP potions, and mage requires too many MP potions
Divinity 2: archer is the only viable class, because archers are only need to improve their Agility. Playing as a warrior requires Strength + Endurance, and mage requires Spirit + Intelligence.
Original Sin/Original Sin 2: archers are stupidly overpowered with all these AOE skills.
It's interesting, why Sven likes archers so much. Do we have other Belgians here? Is marksmanship popular in your country?

Oh how I love to loot places. I can't recall if this game had a pick pockets skill now. Honestly, I'd like to place explosives in pockets but oh well.

Well, I had issues with 6 tbh. U5 did quite a bit that was ok but even that could have been streamlined. I really want a fluid remake of A-9 in just one style with a simple transfer system and... maybe I want ti be the fucking bad guy.
