Press easily impressed by pretentiousness. There's still a high chance the game will be complete and utter shit if you are just going by those type of opinions.

Looks promising, but what I don't like is that the game tells you what to do and where to go next with jarring big bold letters flashing on the screen. You should be able to discover this by exploring your surroundings. I hope this is just in the tutorial level.

http://www.gamefront.com/alien-isolations-difficulty-will-frustrate-players-and-thats-good/

Yes, players are going to have moments in Alien: Isolation when they’re struggling to figure out where the keycard they need is, and they’re probably going to find themselves being murdered by the alien while distracted. They may even throw a controller when they realize they haven’t saved in a bit. (Did I mention Alien: Isolation has static save points and no auto-save? YUP.).

But those tidbits of frustration, when you’re trying to figure out which room the doctor left his code in or you’re trying to figure out how to rewire a security system with minimal information, those are built on purpose to test you. Survival in Alien: Isolation goes beyond just moving slowly and learning how the AI systems work. It might require players to be clever or to multitask or to weigh a risk of death with a reward of information.

Very reassuring.

Doesn't sound like the kind of stuff overly popular with possible for controller-wielders. Bawing about AI cheating, quest compass lacking and the game sucking incoming.

With that in mind,
I've not seen a single goddamn negative preview yet.
Bribe money or simply gut gaem?
...definitely bribe money.
Because gut gaem.

But since its Aliens and there is hype behind it and it looks good, they'll buy it anyway and find out that its frustrating (for them) later, and at that point the publisher and non dummies have already won.

The non-commentary video gives me good vibes. Might actually pick this up.

Yeah and it's most likely so huge because they force you to download all 77 different languages. :troll:

Any bets on how long it will take before the unwashed masses claim this game was the first to do FP horror in space because games don't exist before 2005/outside of consoles?

Greetings Codex Dwellers,

I'm sending this message into the past to transmit my review of this game, now that it came out.

So...

It's uglier than Dead Space 2, boring as shit, and filled with scripted sequences which function like a zigzagging bridge over a lava pool. They are static just like in Dead Space 2 or any other game, except they have a set killzone in which you die until you figure out the correct path through the area.

It's a jarring throwback to trial-and-error gameplay of old, minus any fun mechanics that would make it worthwhile.

Also, the interiors are not by any means authentic replicas of Alien films.

0/10

P.S. Oh yeah, almost forgot the China thing. Many of you will die, unless you evacuate from the following arTRANSMISSION TERMINATED
