Meh, also debatable. Yes, Hollywood is pretty much the dominant cinematic force in the western world. This is simply the result of:
a) A headstart;
b) Generally making movies for the lowest common denominator;
c) arguably a monopoly.

I happen to be the prototypical American. I am a Hungarian-descent, Ohio-born Californian. I am self-employed, I drive a Dodge, and I voted for McCain. I am the perfect demographic for this topic.
Alpha Protocol is a good game. I really have grown to like the gameplay, I love the clean graphics, and I actually appreciate the challenge of the minigames. I'd prefer it if lockpicking, hacking, etc., were completely skill-based, but I'm accomodating enough to understand why they're not. I am enjoying the story and some of its twists, so far. Had no idea I was going to have to go "rogue" in the game, for example. The dialog flows rather smoothly, I think, and I genuinely like the method and effect of the dialog choices. I have yet to even witness some of the better C&C the game has to offer. The characters are all interesting and rather convincing.
I play this game on my high-end PC. It runs perfectly. I have yet to finish AP, but I'm virtually certain it will be a game I will remember fondly for some time.
Then again, many of you know approximately how old I am, and that probably explains a lot of the lack of FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU when evaluating this game. Not to imply that it's a game meant for a more mature set, but rather I think I can more patiently and objectively judge something like this than someone who grew up with a controller in his hand as opposed to a keyboard and mouse, like I did. You couldn't pay me to play it on an XBox or PS3.
Are the Euro gaming journalists more sophisticated in their tastes? More mature somehow? Phhht. It just boils down to each continent's general tendency of greater appreciation of the others' products. I think we did the same thing with Gothic, for example, been going on for many decades.
BTW, I've changed my mind about New Vegas. It looks like shit.
