The backlash seems way too extreme for something as trivial as a pun.

The point is that it isn't a pun, he just swapped "col" for "turd".

He didn't even try.

You mean the game is called Alphacol?

The thread hasn't been about VoD's sub-par wordplay for awhile now. It has devolved into the typical "everyone who gives off the impression they are defending Obsidian is a fanboy" vs "anti-fanboy" thread.

"Fanboy" is a term that's way overused on the 'Dex.

I kinda like Alphaturd, to be honest.

It gives the game a prestigious air: In a pack of turds, you have an Alphaturd.

We should thank Skyway for that.
Which is especially amusing considering he's basically a reverse-fanboy, which is arguably just as bad as your standard breed of fanboy.

Blind hate is no better than blind love.

There's no hypocrisy. The level-headed of the Codex know that even for the worst games, or developers, newsposts about them should be reasonably restrained in their derision. If you insist on a jab, at least make it somewhat witty.
There is no such thing as a level-headed codexer. Plenty of empty-headed, though. Also: You are wrong.

The joke to laugh at isn't the title, but the reactions.

And now the fanboys make this about skyway again. And here I thought we'd manage a week without fanboys being prototools over skyway.

It must be because obsidian is black. Tell a white guy he's a turd and it's fine. Tell a black guy he's a turd and you're a racist. /nonsense on fanboy level

This site should be renamed. Meta-Codex would be much more appropriate.

The irony is so huge
When newsposts make fun of Bethesda's game in a not very mature way (or whatever studio is considered not trv3 underground developer today by retards here) - morons more than happily join the bandwagon. But when it's Obsidian (which is on the same level as Bethesda now) - they spam 5 pages of butthurt. And then cry about how they are not fanboys.

You are completely dense if you don't see any difference between 'Mass Effect' -> 'Ass Effect' and 'Alpha Protocol' -> 'Alphaturd'.
