I haven't checked if it auto updates to 1.2 yet.
It does, got mine updated today

Anyway, the lazily translated changelog:

This update is based on a selection of changes that continue the chain of updates to the current global version 1.7.1.0.
The main emphasis in the release is placed both on fixing known flaws and on introducing new optional solutions.

▪ Settings and optimization (Config.exe)
√ Eliminated the problem of restoring the backup version of Arcanum.exe when deleting the High-Res patch.
- Now, when you delete the patch, Arcanum.exe version 1.7.1.2 will be restored instead of 1.7.1.0.
- To eliminate the problem of launching the game in standard 800x600 resolution after deleting the patch:
1. Apply the High-Res patch with ddraw.dll version 3.1.2 selected.
2. Remove the High-Res patch (ddraw.dll will remain in the root directory).
3. Close Config.exe and start the game with Arcanum.exe (if with Launcher.exe, there may be problems).
√ Fixed engine patch name "Technological Aptitude: +5%" in English configurator layout.
√ Changed the description of the "Always Day" engine patch.
- "Disable global lighting change" (disables hourly lighting change without affecting game time and NPC sleep mode).
√ Added checkbox "Stealable gold: 1000" (increases maximum amount of stealable gold from 100 to 1000 coins).

▪ Basic game (Arcanum Multiverse Edition)
√ Eliminated logical inconsistency in the dialogue between PC and Virgil at the Misty Hills Inn.
- The PC line about the dwarf and the ring will only be available if William Radcliffe was actually interested in the ring.
√ The bank teller will ignore the PC's infiltration of the room with the safe while the shootout with Bowen's gang is going on (until the PC group leaves Doc Roberts).
√ Corrected the name of William Radcliffe meeting the PCs at the Misty Hills Bridge (Half-Player Rural ⇒ Dwarf Townsman).
√ Eliminated a flaw in the scene with Willenbecker's Gang (on William Thorndop's quest to gain the rank of Master in the Firearms skill).
- PC will no longer catch Mrs. Rolland prematurely dead.
- The fight will begin after Edward Willenbecker's line.
- All members of Willenbecker's gang will open fire on the PC group, with the exception of the half-ogre standing next to Mrs. Rolland (he will attack her).
√ Eliminated a flaw in the dialogue with Theo Brightstart, leading to the inability to pass the quest if the PC got rid of the Pigs before taking the quest.
√ Eliminated the Madame Toussaude's quest recapture bug, causing a duplicate Crystal Ball to appear in the PC's inventory.
- In addition, the PC will not ask a leading question about the Garrinsburg robbery if he previously learned about it in a conversation with Evelyn Garrinsburg (will be the same as after reading the newspaper).
- Added a provocative PC line (in case the player is not happy with the reward).
√ Resolved the problem of missing PC line on the first visit to Smith's Armory store with high Magical Aptitude score.
√ In the dialogues with the ticket-takers of Tarant railroad stations, the answer option was added, which returns to the beginning of the list of stations.
√ (Russian name thing about Gurin Rockharrow) Gurin Skalorub/Skalozub is now called Gurin Skalorub everywhere.
√ Aggressive NPCs in Tarant warehouses will no longer attack PCs through walls (they will attack indoors).
- Worked on the following NPCs: Drain Rat, Huge Parasite, Ratlord, Guardian Ogre, Mechanized Arachnid.
√ Replaced the art of the Poison Protection Jacket, which looked like a Tight Wool Garment.
- Based on previously unused art restored from the original graphics library.
- Added a size for half-ogres (based on Big Leather Armor, but with recalculated parameters).
√ A scheme of Armored Leather Armor has been added to the assortment of village blacksmiths.
- Similar to the Poison Protection Jacket, the scheme/item image is based on art that was not included in the official release.
- Sheet Metal's technological inclination has been lowered from 40 to 20 so that Reinforced Leather Armor can be assembled with an Assist degree.
√ Electrolyte on Solomon Doone's corpse is transferred to Lugard Bloodstone's corpse (from Mage to Technologist).
√ The Captain of the Elite Archers has been given the Key to the Cellar of the Elite Guardians of Caladon.
√ Corrected the animation of the descent to Malachi Rench's dungeon in Ashbury Cemetery (will close after time).
√ Changed the location of the descent to the Scholars' Dungeon in one of Tarant's warehouses (will be easier to find the hatch).

▪ Expanded game (Sir's Expectations Modpack)
√ Added 2 new portraits for the Half-Order Protagonist and Priscilla Penn.
- The original size portraits have been added to the compilation bonus folder (.\_Bonus\Art\HD Portraits\Multiverse Portraits\Portraits by Ollynik).
√ Priscilla Penn from the Vormantown module has been added.
- The NPC will appear in the brothel of Taranta on the 6th stage of the story quest (journey to the Isle of Despair).
√ Added on/off extra lines of Sogg's Mead Mug.
- 26 pop-up phrases of Sogg's Mead Mug in the Misty Hills (up to 5 in each situation).
- 5 retaliatory lines from the Half-Ogre of Lukan the Brainless (situation at the bridge of the Foggy Hills).
√ Expanded dialogue with Agent of the Hand of Moloch at the Crash Site.
- Implemented the ability to intimidate NPCs without Virgil's involvement.
- At certain end of the dialogue NPC can fall into the clutches of Wolves.
√ Dialogues with Jongle Dunn and Beggar have been expanded.
- The quest to destroy the steam engine can now be completed without actually participating in the sabotage.
- There will also be a note in the Journal if the PC asks Jongle Dunn about Beggar.
√ Corrected an inconsistency in the description of the Battle Monk backgrounder (the magnitude of the bonus to the Persuasion skill).
√ Fixed Arbalach artifact dupe in dialogue with Simon Farkus.
Fixed stupid PC line in smart dialog with Lloyd Gurlos (in Russian version of SEM).
√ Changed the name, characteristics and appearance of the Pigs that Theo Brightstart asks to get rid of.
√ Replaced Jongle Dunn's reward for the quest to destroy the steam engine in the Temple of the Misty Hills.
- Smart PC gets 2 Strong Healing Potions instead of 2 Weak Healing Potions.
- Stupid PC receives Intelligence Essence instead of Weak Healing Potion.
√ Ring of Influence obtained from J.M. Moret, Master of Trade, is now a neutral item, not a magic item (has static effects).
√ Revised system of offerings to the Ancient Gods.
- The tribute circles can be passed in any order, not necessarily from Truth to Shadow and from Shadow to Equilibrium.
- Offerings within the circle can be made in any order. The blessings of the Lesser Gods are taken by the Great God (as in the original).
- Having received the blessings of the Great Gods you can continue to make offerings to the Lesser Gods. The enmity between the Lesser Gods remains in force.
- In order to receive blessings of the Almighty, PC must have 3 blessings of the Great Gods and no curse of the Lesser Gods. The blessings of the Great Gods are taken by the Most High.
- After receiving the blessings of the Almighty, the PC cannot make offerings to other gods (as in the original).
Possibility to continue the game after the end of the main story quest has been implemented.
- Added 2 new NPCs:
Watchmaker (in the Void) and Destiny (by Brodgar's ring).
- In the dialogue with
Destiny
added transition to the "Easter egg" location of the developers, known as the Graveyard of Game Fans.
- Activated the 24th (in index order) stage of the story quest, activating the "Easter egg" developer's lines in dialogues with some NPCs (Magnus, Geoffrey Tarrelond-Esh, Raven, minor characters).

// Compatibility.

√ Updater checks for an installed Sir's Expectations Modpack before unpacking related files.
√ Temporary file cleanup, necessary to accept most changes, is also managed by the updater.
Support for saved games remains if they were recorded on the 1.7.1.x build.

- Depending on whether you want to see/download, put dl=0/dl=1
√ "AME_Update_1.7.1.x.txt" contains the available update version and download link for archive "AME_Update_1.7.1.x.rar".
- If you want to see the archive structure directly on Dropbox, put dl=0,
√ Inside the archive "AME_Update_1.7.1.x.rar" is the folder "X_Optional" with 3 main subfolders. The subfolder "AME" is always empty, because the basic changes are in "BOTH", and the advanced ones in "SEM".
√ After replacing the files you needed from the folder "X_Optional" it is necessary to clean up the temporary files of the game in the build configurator (Config.exe).
- Put a checkmark in the checkbox "Delete temporary files" in the tab "Basic Settings", so that when you start a new game all the changes will take effect.

There was also the idea that in one of these establishments, Sogg could meet some familiar persona. The only question is what role she will play."

From what I understand it is a "preparatory" update, quote:"The long anticipated rebuild of AME. Priority is given to the technical basis with the possibility of future updates".

Changelog (very lazily translated) as of their 21st May post:​


▪ Settings and optimization (Config.exe)
√ New tab "Game Patches", where some mandatory changes from AME and SEM will be displayed in options (e.g. hiding NPC awards).
- The game's patch compatibility check will be used. That is, from two conflicting patches you can choose one.
- The current options "Autoleveling", "Disable sounds of some spells" and "Disable sounds of summoned creatures" will be moved from "Main settings" tab to "Game patches" tab.
√ New "Extra" tab, where post-installation changes of the game's build and text/video language will be available.
- The clips and slides for Russian and English version will be packed by new system providing instant switching. :incline:
- Custom effects and backgrounds will be automatically picked up by the selected game build.
- Saved games will have different extensions, being in a common folder. Availability of saved games will depend on the selected game build.
- Temporary files will be cleaned automatically when you change the game build or apply game patches.
√ New tab "Update", where the updater window will appear. The "Auto Update" checkbox will be moved there as well.
√ The options in the "High-Res" tab, not related to the High-Res patch, will be applied separately from it (the patch will not be needed to apply).
√ The "Show module selection at game start" checkbox will be replaced by an internal module selector.
√ Launcher.exe will be removed from the build. All game launcher functionality will be moved to Config.exe.
√ Other technical changes.

It's apparently not compatible. Someone tried it recently:

I play it through with Equilibrium Mod for the balancing (and making harm+disintegrate combo less cheesy). I have tried it with both Arcanum MvE and AUP. It forks seamlessly with Unofficial patch and not MvE (MvE is unfortunately too cooked to apply the Equilibrium mod cleanly)-though there are some nice improvement in MvE compared to AuP- mainly it seams enemies drop clothing items from corpses that they should.

Also, Equilibrium makes a lot of bizarre changes, like using rings and gems for crafting in ways that make no sense.

Main problem I encountered when adding Equilibrium over MvE was that the merchant inventories would quickly bug out and vanish from the game - empty inventory merchant bug. Not a problem maybe if you never buy anything and are a magic user but a huge problem for techies because you need those schematics.

As for wonky items in the Equilibrium patch that are needed for crafting...sure some of them are weird choices to limit the amount of most powerful weapons you can craft (Tesla Gun, Vendigroth stuff etc)...if it really bothers you that is easier to "edit" differently in the files for crafting recipes than correcting out the Mve/ Equilibrium inventory incompatibility.

Question!
I just installed Arcanum Multiverse Edition (v.1.7.1.0).
I"m using windows 10, used the GOG version, and installed it without subfolder (if i made a subfolder the game will crash during loading).
Config.exe doesnt work. keep saying "Arcanum is arleady running", even though it isn't.
I want the config menu to pop-up! so i can play window mode.
Any advice, anyone?

Far as I'm aware, no.

They have a guide on Steam that hasn't been updated in a while, a torrent on rutracker, but seem to mainly use VK to post updates.
