An oasis of love and friendship.
Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I helped put crap in Monomyth
All these reviews from the usual sites infested with rot are actually promising. The majority of people in games media are hylics and easily wowed by surface level mechanics and immediate gratification. They consume and hype up a never ending buffet of flavor-of-the-week slop and find anything that doesn't feature whatever is trending to be "mid."

It's the difference between hearing a song for the first time and loving it but then growing tired of it after a while compared to listening to an album and not being into it but then when you listen a second or third time the more you appreciate it and it becomes one of your favorites.

Avowed.

It's baffling how Sawyer was not involved in the development of either TOW or Avowed when his most popular projects were ARPGs like Alpha Protocol and FNV. Not a single CRPG he ever made was good.
NWN2? The best parts were the expansion packs, which he didn't even work on.
IWD 2? Shit.
PoE 1? Shit.
PoE 2? Shit.
PoE 3 if it ever happens? Shit.

It's like hiring Tom Clancy to write the script for a D&D movie or John Carmack to work on an idle mobile game.

Now hold on just a minute, how is their playthrough still doing Raedrik. Dawg, they've done like 50 streams. Are they just restarting these because none of the developers can beat Maerwald?

BG3's back in the Steam top 5. KCD II already not far behind (preorders). Veilguard+Avowed, two mid looking and unremarkable action/adventure/RPG power fantasies that rely on brand recognition in a crowded market (that Avowed doesn't much have)? Nowhere to be found. And not getting people excited much in general outside their respective fanbases.

Maybe I'm a bit optimistic, but this may be the time where trends of the past two decades are being reversed. Or at least, slowed down some. You know the ones. Now if only there had been a Bloodlines 2 with a properly scaled and smooth production proper to complete a trilogy of possible incline...

At some point even the analysts are going to realize that they're en route for fighting over roughly same audiences. Which has allowed for the rise of FromSoft already. And it played a role in BG3's success as well. And as the costs of development are still exploding, whilst target audiences are not keeping up...

How do you expect them to be seen if neither can be purchased yet?
