'even' better? You seem to be implying that TOW is a somewhat decent RPG in the first place. My prediction is that Avowed will likely going to be a better game and even better RPG than The Outer Worlds.

Yeah, ok. Cool I guess.all-killable NPCs
You mean I'm forced to go on an adventure with the bitchy reddit-tier companions FORCED upon me? Why would they do that? For what purpose?strictly optional companions
TOW is the best RPG I haven't played. And I played them all!'even' better? You seem to be implying that TOW is a somewhat decent RPG in the first place. My prediction is that Avowed will likely going to be a better game and even better RPG than The Outer Worlds.

Huh? They had that in some games but I doubt it's a staple per se.Obsidian staples, such as all-killable NPCs,
Well, I guess it’s one of the Cain’s and Sawyer’s game design principle(ie player driven story), not so sure about MCA and others thoughHuh? They had that in some games but I doubt it's a staple per se.Obsidian staples, such as all-killable NPCs,
does obsidian does not know what sells?
They never knew what sells, this is why Feargus had to sell the studio to Microsoft in the first place. They blew themselves up trying to chase Larian with POE 2. Even Sawyer is public about how he doesn't "get" the people who loved BG3, you think the rest of Obsidian gets them better than him?
https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads...ting-coming-february-18th.134122/post-9230845Yeah well, I don't remember the exact wording of announcements about The Outer Worlds' sales. It's been over five years. But I don't recall the use of "shipped x units"-type weasel words. There may have been announcements about the number of people who played the game, which isn't equivalent to sales due to Game Pass, but that means exactly what it says.
Vogel's 1st Law of Video Game Visibility: "No matter how passionate an online 'controversy' about a game is, 99% of its players will never even know about it."

Hi,Hi.
Gosh some great discussion going on in the last few pages, so take a break and enjoy TEN beautiful images of The Living Lands. Expect a flurry of more information as the embargo lift draws near. Soon we shall all be enjoying a bottle of Wyrthoneg with a plate of Rauatai Cookies while sitting back at the local tavern sharing our adventures with one another.

NeverI wonder if Codex'll ever stop talking about Bethesda, Obsidian and BioWare. I mean they are just vacant corpses at this point.

Veilguard at least has a distinctive fantasy style.
The same can't be said about Avowed. It looks bland and gaudy and without character.
What will be left of Codex then?I wonder if Codex'll ever stop talking about Bethesda, Obsidian and BioWare. I mean they are just vacant corpses at this point.
I'll take bland and without character over such a distinctive style, thanks))Veilguard at least has a distinctive fantasy style.
