I love that there's a little flame icon on the spider web to tell the player to use a fire ability on the spider web to remove the spider web. They know that anyone who actually buys this game must be legitimately retarded, so they are caring for their target audience and putting in as many QoRL (Quality of Retard's Life) improvements as possible.

Hi.

They made this just for you, Dark Souls 2! Bend over and light the match. :hahano:

GOSH, how much fun the reviews would have been if they could not figure it out themselves if there was no fire icon. "My sword doesn't work!" Reminds me of the Cuphead reviewer that could not do the double jump.

Sadly, this is how games are today. ! over heads for quest givers, arrows on the map pointing you to your task. Gamers are just getting dumberer.

Thanks,
Sherry

I mean you don't cater to retards, you force them to learn. Or you are just sending the message where being retarded is all right.
The industry decided catering to the mentally challenged was the way to go about 20 years ago. Dude, you're old.
I know let me be an old man yelling at the clouds, its the only thing I have left after watching powerless the collective IQ dropping to room temperature levels.

If this becomes a hit like KCD2, I'll take a break from the culture war. :negative:
Depends on your definition of a hit.

Currently 57 on global best sellers for steam. KCD2 was like 1 or 2 before release. I doubt this will get anywhere close.

I don't think this is gonna be a explosive success but be like The Outer worlds, cover production costs and enough profit so uncle Phil don't nuke their studio for now.
I think they don't even need to make much profit with their games given they are basically Game Pass fodder.

Pretty sure the era of nuking studios is over because it looks too much like a public admission of failure and companies like EA and Microsoft have become sensitive to their reputations after getting skewered for axing so many in the past.

The new thing seems to be reducing their scale and letting them either slowly fade away or earn back their privileges with success at less complicated projects.

The best they can hope for is to make the money back eventually and that the game achieves the prestigious status of B-Tier RPG.

See, I don't buy this, because it's really weird when I open up Battle.net and Avowed is right next to big titles like WoW/Diablo 4/Call of Duty.

It doesn't feel like this is a "filler" game in Microsoft's eyes...

I mean it could be that they are betting their chips to be the next great thing but at the same time I could see a case of ok we acquired these guys and they have this platform might as well use make a test and try marketing for CoD guys and WoW guys to also avoiding paying Gaben his 30% share.
Sadly Starfield released prior their acquirement of Activision so no way to know exactly what they are doing.

Grounded ended up being a reasonably big thing for game pass, or at the very least Microsoft was pushing it as a reason to get it.

If these companies want to survive they have no choice but to make objective decisions rather than decisions that protect their face. They will need to add new studios to their potfoilo and they need to clear away underperforming studios.

That said nuking Obsidian because Avowed bombed is probably illogical when you consider that they have been in their golden age sales wise since joining Microsoft. If I am Microsoft I would tell them to never make a game like Avowed again and focus on making games like Grounded next. I would also tell Feargus he probably should step down cause his leadership and business instincts is getting the studio to nowhere, though I will be scared of the person that is replacing him.
