They are in full cope mode with all the reviewers shitting on it.

[MrMattyPlays] became ragebait reviewer somewhere in the last 6 months/year. It's very easy to discover that by looking at titles/videos uploaded in that period.

I sometimes listen to his podcast with Lord Cognito, and I remember him stating very clearly that "it was very easy to dogpile on Starfield, the views speak for themselves" (talking about his own videos). I suspect that's where it began.

Shame. I liked watching him before.

It's strange, even if the game is dated and somewhat shallow as depicted.

I don't really have a complaint, I will happily take an old school $30 hit. We are so deprived of decent western style rpgs.

Fallout New Vegas is 8/10 on average too. It's just what Obsidian does, games that don't appeal to everyone.

If the main negative is that it doesn't do too too much new and is pretty "standard" then I am good.

I do it so that when someone googles "Avowed RPG" the first thing they see is an RPG Codex link and a quote of me saying "THE AVOWED RPG FISH NIGGER IS A FAGGOT".

Watched a few reviews, now I am not even enthused to try it on gamepass.
Even putting aside its dead world and lame quests, purely from aesthetic perspective this game is so ugly. Interface is ugly, world looks ugly, characters look ugly. It is like the game was made by some rare anti-talent, compared to KCD2 which was made by a real talent. Just compare the interfaces of the two games (or, well, anything).

Yeah, I looked up some early let's plays after this comment to check it out and the faces look especially weird during dialogues. Not a deal breaker for me but certainly a bit distracting.
