The biggest obstacle to meaningful change is the number of true believers and spiteful, dysgenic freaks embedded deeply in various companies. Even when they're fired it just leads to them being hired elsewhere, sometimes failing upwards.

The industry needs stronger laws and regulations to counter employees going to war with their customers, insulting them and wishing death and harm upon them. Typically in other customer facing industries a chef hurling abuse at customers would result in a lot of legal trouble and bad reviews. There isn't much of an ability for video game companies to get in trouble for reprehensible behaviour. Just look at how the company didn't bother to respond to the nutty comments by the art director.

Or how the major developer involved in KCD2 outright argued with, gaslit and insulted anyone criticising the performative pandering he chose to include in his game.

Games like Veilguard, Avowed and KCD2 are proof that the "free market" and "invisible hand" do not exist.

With 3600 you could achieve 95% in gaming of what best CPU at the time could do. 5xxx ryzens weren't even that huge upgrade over 3xxx series to begin with. Only X3D was the one that stood out with transformative performance (if game supported it). Since then we got 7 series which was definitely an 10-20% upgrade over 5000 series and 9xxx which is eve smaller upgrade than going from 5000 to 7000 and that one is like few months old recent.

Again. We are not talking here about some amazing looking game that pushes simulation up to 11.

We are talking here about 520p gaming on low in game that doesn't look better than 2015 game like Witcher 3 and isn't even open world game.

And it can't do 60fps lololol.

They are going to keep making content that reflects life as they see it. You aren't going to stop seeing this in major titles until more chuds start making the games they want to see in the world and show some publishers that it can turn a profit.

Invisible walls, barely any interactivity, all looks extremely generic feature wise and abysmal visually wise. Like sure I'd too read some real summary of someone trustworthy after completing it all just to confirm there's nothing redeemable at all but you don't need any first-hand impressions to lean on. This is just obvious, especially when you know well what this studio is, what people are working there.

And you're wrong about "this isn't our games". No, this is (unfortunately) our games too, just by virtue of belonging to the RPG genre, if rather nominally. We should ridicule and critique anything we don't like about it even while not actually touching it, we shouldn't just walk by. Unless you like where this is all going of course.

That’s disappointing, but unfortunately seems to be the norm now. I saw in some reviews that you can side with the antagonist at the end but it doesn’t seem to any major effects aside from some of your companions giving you a stern talking to.

I have issues with Owlcat’s games but at least they generally handle this aspect decently. Except for Rogue Trader because a Heretic playthrough is ass.

The writing in this game and dialogue flow is the most text generator-to-game examples I have seen. More so than even pillars 1 which many people considered to be very dry. There is no soul or passion to anything. Writing is very simplistic and straightforward : points you to direction where you kill things, then points you to direction were to collect your reward. That is it.

As I said NPCs are stuck to their tiles, very rarely do they move so the entire towns you visit feels very empty and lifeless. There is a big dearth for evil and neutral options in dialogue.

Miriamele was insulted (this is the same female from that annoying tiktok video using the bubble gum song) after she made a rude remark about Miriamele's growth on her face. Miriamele could not kill her - the game would not allow me to put an arrow through her skull - and I was not about to let her out of the cell she was in after her remarks and when she found out I was leaving her there, she let me have it ROT AWAY.

Sadly it just left Miriamele with that one option to leave her there. I have a feeling I could not kill her because once I move on from this area "someone" will find her, let her out and I may come across her again, at which point she'll belittle me even more for leaving her behind to ROT AWAY. Really if the game allows you the conversation option to leave her behind, one should be able to kill her then, which is why I feel this choice is just setting me up down the road and I will hear that stupid tiktok bubble gum song in the back of my head when I see her round insulting face. Plus the fact killing non-hostile NPCs is out of the question.

OH! - I dislike the magical jingly sound the KEY made in that same area. You need to find the KEY if you want to let ROT AWAY woman out. I found it before I even spoke to her because the magical jingly sound caught my attention. At first I thought it was a GOLD CHEST but gosh what a let down with that. EXPLORE they say, it's FUN! Well you know what it's not fun when there is a magical jingly sound telling you where something is instead of letting you EXPLORE and have FUN. rot away. ROT AWAY!

OH!! OH!! - So the one member of the blue man group said something about shooting away this vegetation barrier while I was following that magical jingly sound around so I missed exactly what he was referencing, but something about burning or shooting so after the above I am using this bow I found to shoot arrows around thinking it was the stone weight high above so I just went to the tutorial portion through TAB and wtf! The tutorial of burning the vegetation SHOWED ME what MY CHARACTER has to do with a video wtf. Showed you use a BOW to aim at these SPORES that FALL and EXPLODE to BURN the VEGETATION. gosh smh maybe because I am still in the tutorial portion of the game and the rest of the game will not be so hand holding obvious? Blue man would not BURN to death either.

Still having fun. Until the story unfolds and moves forward not much to say on the negative. I like the art style too. Reminds me of Ghost of a Tale in a way!

Obviously not. The conclusion must be that the least likely person to say anything factual or informative about the game is the modern audience it targets. The posts with least value in this thread are from people that bought the game and are playing it. If someone paid for the game they will not be useful at all for discussion of the qualities of the game, too biased. Also too gay and retarded.

Conclusion: Only the fine posters who have not touched the game are to be trusted at all with judging it. The disinterested arbiters who don't have a vested interested in the success of this poorly put together goyslop game by subtards. Is it really the norm? No matter how you feel about the games, KCD 2, BG3, Cyberpunk, etc. all had much higher degrees of C&C compared to this game. These are the biggest games of the past few years, all RPGs with decent C&C. Heck, even Elden Ring has a nice amount of C&C with multiple endings and quest outcomes.

It's not the norm, it's just the next step in Obsidian's unending degeneration.
