Holy shit the wailing woman in the intro menu is going to give me a permanent migraine. What the fuck is wrong with this. EEAAAAAAAEEEEE HEWAAAA EEEEEEEEEEEEEE fuck right off, jesus christ. What the fuck is she even saying? Something something by the river? What river are you talking about woman? The heraclitean one? The styx? Whatever, how about I dump you in the river. Is this a valid criticism, can EA influence the music to the point that they shut the woman up. Are we going to have a community effort over here.

Just watching this video I'm getting the feeling custom PC is going to get screwed over again. I hope Larian puts enough effort into crafting content for your own character.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Real cash grab would be making Mass Effect or Witcher style game that will appeal to 1000% more normies

I'm sorry to break it to you but BG3 still appeals to normies. Just look at the marketing - Expensive cinematics that rival scenes from the Avengers, SEX, Stacking Barrels (normies still find this impressive after 3 games). 40k lines of voiced dialog. Shitty World of Warcraft graphics. I could go on. Yeah it's a cash grab. They didn't even try to hide the fact.
Yeah, but didn't we think the same about BG 1 and 2 when they came out? You're starting to sound like those Star Wars fans back in '99 that used to diefy it to the point where they thought Lucas could do no wrong, or the franchise could do no wrong.

Remember that you used to play this as a teen, and back when an RPG meant a pretty expansive and immersive experience. Not that BG didn't try to be, but you can't deny the fact that the BG series were always a gateway series. It introduced people to RPGs and the concepts of adventuring in a medieval setting.

On paper BG 1 and 2 even sounds like Star Wars, because they took inspiration from the old serials and adventures people used to play as kids:
- the wise old sage that tutors you, which dies to save your life from an evil you cannot face
- there are many damsels in distress you can pick up on your journey
- the dashing rogue was supposed to be Imoen, but we all know how that went
- and you, the (young) adult heading on a journey of self discovery

These things are not high art. They never have been. They're gateway elements to lure in teens/young adults into the more serious parts of the hobby.

Also... once again I am force to reiterate: if you go into this with the expectation of an isometric/no cutscene/no narrator/little voice acting game, you're going to be very dissapointed.
Kids these days go on Twitch to be a part of a community there, and the expectation of a certain pace, the ability to pause (to speak to your chat at any time), voice acting (so the streamer doesn't have to read out loud) and the flashy, but brisk cutscenes - they are the norm now.

Is that decline, or a different beast? It's up to you to decide, but whatever the answer is, I fear we're not going to see it as long as the game is in EA.

So my character bugged out and began fully voicing a dialogue, I'm guessing this will be fully voiced then in the final version?

That fight with the phase spiders was great, wasn't expecting it and ended up chugging potions, tossing scrolls and reviving dudes like a madman.

From the larian writer who was streaming:
there will be at least eight companions, possibly some who aren't origin characters.
evil route definitely needs more work, currently feels too much like a cartoon villain
playing as a custom character felt underwhelming in DoS2, don't want it to happen again in BG3
Kagha is going to see heavy rewriting(in line in with the above evil route rewrite, I assume), feels too one dimensional.
EA is definitely not all of act 1, moonrise towers are part of act 1 <- this one is kind of interesting, the EA is already pretty big.
if lae'zal dies on the ship you find her corpse on the beach, you're meant to be able to resurrect her but it's currently not in

Probably because she's just an amalgamation of anti-Trump memes.

I don't really see it tbh.
You did uncover her letter and then went to the meeting spot, right?

Make the Codex Great Again! Pathfinder: Wrath
Just finished clearing the goblin camp and had a party. Pretty good I feel like I went too "all in" with the persuasion and I want to do another playthrough with a fun character.

Maybe Ranger or Fighter something that can do Ranged and Dual Wield or even play with that -5 AB +10 DMG power attack (has anyone used this?).

but joining the goblins was the side that needed more persuasion checks, and is way more interesting...

So I'm here with a Reddit story. I'm liking BG3 EA well enough so it inspired me to make a comic poking fun at it. I did not like the fact that the male dream crush wears the same pink robe that the female crush does. It looks gay af. SJWs had a meltdown in that thread downvoting me and writing some butthurt messeges. Look:

There's much more but I'm not going to copy-paste the whole flame war.

It's because not many people saw it as it barely left the "new/waiting room" when it was hit with all the downvotes. I'm not gonna delete it so I won't be surprised if it lands in some thread "why bg3 fans are toxic and shit" in the future.:lol:
