I'm just saying, the OC does have some decent setpieces. It's not good but there's worse out there. It's no Dragon Age 2.

At least the disk didn’t explode and blow your face off when you opened the box. That doesn’t make it a good game.

Rocks fall, everybody dies. NWN2 OC was a buggy, boring, badly written game from beginning to end.

Lol, yeah that’s the thing people talked about back then to try and soothe the butthurt after seeing Obsidian create the dumpster fire that was the OC.

Except the scene is a fake. It still railroaded you to the exact same plot as the rest of the game.

Ontopoly liking NWN2 and hating BG3 is meme levels of irony.

So yeah, if you liked NWN2’s official campaign, you might hate BG3. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a selling point.

Imagine hating BG3 and loving this abomination:

I would slap that tiefling ass.

Btw, just to recap the last page for people:

The same people who hate BG3 (for reasons they still can’t articulate), liked the buggy, horribly written cashgrab that was NWN2 OC.

You’ve all lost all credibility.

People have made completely reasonable explanations as to why Larian shouldn't handle the IP.

And as I said when this was first announced: Its a sequel that was neither wanted nor needed.

NWN2 OC is, much like DA:O, the epitome of "good for what it is" (except NWN2 OC's Orzammar streches for most of the first chapter).
To me the stretch of shit in DAO, the big pungent skid mark, is the mage tower and the demon world or whatever it's called, also the final battle is a wet fart.
Orzamar and the forest are pretty good.
I don't think I can say I enjoyed a single part of the NWN2 OC except the introduction.

Well I wanted a new D&D computer RPG, I wanted à New forgotten realms game and I wanted a new Larian game, so I guess it's a strike for me.
I guess the fact that the Baldur's Gate games are not that big of a deal to me, in my opinion PST and Icewind Dale are far superior and BG2 is not really deserving of the status it acquired makes it so that I don't really care if the game is BG3, IWD3, Spelljammer, Planescape or whatnot.

“Because it exists” isn’t a valid criticism. And I see no valid reasons why Larian shouldn’t handle the IP after playing the game.

You’re basically saying you hate the game because of the title and because you personally don’t like Larian as a developer and not due to this game.

DA:O had some novel and enjoyable features. The opening vignettes and their reactivity, the false villain/chosen one mechanics, some of the characters - definitely enjoyment to be had.

NWN2 OC was spent trying to cope with the fact that I paid $50 for a giant turd that I hated every minute of.

Honestly I feel like Obsidian was trying to adhere to Bioware's vision and consciously made the most irrationally shit OC possible to be in lockstep with NWN.

Yes.
So I think you’re either the 3rd or 4th hater posting a lot itt to say that.

That and the fact that at least two of you defend NWN2 OC should be enough for anyone not to listen to a word you say about BG3 from now on.

You're being the one here who can't handle the mildest of bantz, friend. Glass houses and such.

Hey friendo, it’s just bantz. Y u mad? I’m only prentending to be retarded.

I just hate the game because of the title.

If only this game were a direct sequel like NWN2 OC was, I would defend it.
:avatard:

Lol, “glass houses”.

Extremely Yes on IWD, no opinion on NWN. What other campaign settings have been ported over to 5E? Ravenloft party based RPG would be pretty sweet

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth

For a second, as I was reading, I thought you were going to advocate that the OC was boring on purpose, so that MotB could be seen even more awesome by comparison. That would've been an amazing conspiracy theory.

Just give over all of D&D to Larian and be done with it.
Maybe Owlcat can get some scraps if WotR turns out OK

I don't think anyone at Obsidian was smart enough or had enough money to see that far ahead.
But it's logical in that they follow the same model.
I don't remember the order of release but
Both the OC are absolute and total garbage.
Both have a shit Xpack (SoU/SoZ)
Both have a good to great Xpack (HotU/MotB).
That's too many coincidences.

I'm still hoping for a BioWare/Black Isle Studios situation developing. Where a different team can leverage their asset creation stuff (which is pretty good IMO) but approach it with different design personality and less pressure to be a blockbuster type of thing.
