"What a bunch of sick weirdoes on rpg codex"
Reminder that all of these poser devs used to post and or lurk here back in the day before WOKE became fashionable.

I seem to remember they had no problem taking our money or other contributions back in the day.

They even gave me D:OS for free because I won a contest here.
a lot of them still lurk here, they just no longer post (openly) so they don't get canceled

If you didn't notice she always prefers phasing onto the webs. Hit the webs with something(e.g., firebolt cantrip) to cause them to break, she falls to the ground taking a lot of damage. Hope that helps you git gud.
Lol, I didn't even know about that and killed her and her spiders at level 3.

People bitching about dice rolls obviously don't play PnP, so their opinion doesn't matter.
People should at least acknowledge that if it's a flaw, it's a flaw with 5e.
no it's not. this is just another empirical proof that the future is black. just like fallout 3. another nail in the cofin of our youth. a mirror to our lifes fading away with no hope for having achieved anything positive in the grand scheme of things. a monument to our collective failure even in this once niche form of entertainment that grew into a monster that mocks our efforts.
you see a good for what it is bg3 because you can't/won't admit to yourself that you were fooled by promises that turned to lies again and again. most of us can't/won't admit to bein conned again and again by the same kind of people that use our memories against us for personal gain. people that don't even know us or the games we once played.
they laugh at you buying their games. they laugh at you spending your time to beta test them for free. they laugh at you resonating with bits and pieces of your childhood thrown around and scattered about with no coherence like "venture forth" and no reason other than to laugh at you.
you paying for and playing this is the punchline of their joke of a game.

The most difficult fight I had so far was the goblins at the windmill. They are all very well positioned, and when the fight starts after the initial dialogue your party will be clumped together, which will make them easy targets for their one-shot fireball spam. Though taking out their leader will make the rest of them surrender.

I'm having trouble seeing any challenge people are complaining about. Wizard's Ray of Frost cantrip seems completely brokenly overtuned along with Eldrich Blast spam just facerolls everything. Do I need to reroll a beta-cuck Ranger for difficulty or something?

I haven't played yet but I imagine it's BG fans complaining because they can't just Auto attack everything one by one and have to actually understand systems. Just my guess.

Now that I have had the opportunity to play around with it a bit I have formed some opinions on it.

+ From what I have seen so far, there aren't armies of trash monsters all over the place.
- Unfortunately, the monsters that are there, aren't particularly challenging.
- Perception checks tell you that you failed them when you walk past them, this should be changed in my opinion.
- There isn't an option for out of combat take 10/20 on rolls for stuff.
- It seems like portrait targeting is not a thing, this should in my opinion be changed.

The game does look very nice, but that is not a criteria I personally evaluate games on. Story wise, none of the characters grate on my nerves, even if they aren't particularly memorable, so I will count that as a, "not minus." 5e ruleset does mean there is a lot less character customization than I would like, but I won't hold wotc's requirements against larian in this regard since hell would freeze over before wotc allowed them to use some of the earlier editions even if they would make a better pc game.

Yeah the exploration is pretty good, shame that the rewards are shit,like....more tedious broken combat. Found a secret area with two spiders and two efcaps or whateva their names is. It was the most miserable combat i have seen. They were level 2 spiders with 40ish hp,that could just teleport around and spam 10+ damage area of effect that gives you poison/acid on top of the the 10 damage. It is the typical larian garbage combat filled with 20 types of effect terrain. Every enemy has a bunch of items that do fire/acid/ice/electricity etc etc type of are of effects damage, after the first turn half your party is dead or burning and the map looks like shit. Unlike dos games, here you have like 20 hp,thus the party dies in two turns tops. You have to be really cheap and stealthy to even have the smallest chance of killing shit, shame that the whole ordeal is tedious because of bad UI. I am depressed at how frequent i just decide to fuck off because the combat feels cheap and retarded. Also all the initiative shit is broken beyond believe because the combat area shit, meaning that most times your companions sit and watch the combat being outside of the combat zone. Also fucking dialogue with enemies really kills any plans you have for the combat. You position your party, you even make the manual turn based shit to give you a bonus round, then you attack......and the enemy decide to tell you that you are fighting now and restarts the initiative and the enemy looses all the surprise debuffs.
I beat the phase spider matriarch first try, git gud
Yeah, and i beat it without even trying, with my hands tied behind me back. You are a fucking retard lol. You either lie or had gone there in level 5 lol. Fucking fanboys of this shit should be banned.
The max level is 4, and I was 3 at the time.

Geee you don't say lol. Also never said i didn't beat it,it needed a few tries since the spiders just insta killed half that party with their shit attack. Also i have noticed that flaming spiders don't affect the webs, but ef's web spew ends up a fireball because one of me heroes had a fire axe lol. That said,i deleted the game. Don't want too much spoilers, also too many bugs, will wait for the release.

Funny enoguh, just like Dragon Age Origins, the party banter is triggered in specific travel points, but unlike Dragon Age the banter itself is not random. Or not random to a specific savefile.

Ah, so that’s why they ran. I killed most of them, not just their leader. After the spider fight, it was nothing, but I suspect the spider fight would have gone easier had I cheesed it like rusty did.
