I did like Mask of the Betrayer. If only they limited rests without also limiting critical strikes and sneak attacks....Dnd becomes more enjoyable the fewer opportunities for a long rest you have.
At the moment they are carefully moving the goalpost from "It's gonna be a great RPG" to "At least it's 5th edition and turn based" and "I don't experience any of the problems you are talking about".So are we finally allowed to say this game resembles bg in no way or are people going to keep telling me "It's too early to tell, how can you know without more information?"
It's also a massive cringe pit, which is the real problem. At least we didn't have to face that with the IE games, because no one can deny the writing in BG was already cringe enough. The worst part is that they are all voice acted....it is a massive money pit. I have talked with 25 people and only 3 of them had actual information or a quest.
The great irony of it all is that these must be the only occurances of the words "venture" and "forth" in the entire game. The silly girls who are larping writers at Larian can't hold a candle to the tone of the originals writing when it tried to sound like high fantasy. They just don't know how. Copying phrases like "venture forth" like a 4-year old copies from grown-ups.no it's not. this is just another empirical proof that the future is black. just like fallout 3. another nail in the cofin of our youth. a mirror to our lifes fading away with no hope for having achieved anything positive in the grand scheme of things. a monument to our collective failure even in this once niche form of entertainment that grew into a monster that mocks our efforts.
you see a good for what it is bg3 because you can't/won't admit to yourself that you were fooled by promises that turned to lies again and again. most of us can't/won't admit to bein conned again and again by the same kind of people that use our memories against us for personal gain. people that don't even know us or the games we once played.
they laugh at you buying their games. they laugh at you spending your time to beta test them for free. they laugh at you resonating with bits and pieces of your childhood thrown around and scattered about with no coherence like "venture forth" and no reason other than to laugh at you.
you paying for and playing this is the punchline of their joke of a game.
Hahah I fucking knew this supposed 'overpowered' monster was actually perfectly balanced, how embarrassing for the people who whined like little bitches about it.The max level is 4, and I was 3 at the time.
If you didn't notice she always prefers phasing onto the webs. Hit the webs with something(e.g., firebolt cantrip) to cause them to break, she falls to the ground taking a lot of damage. Hope that helps you git gud.
These people will never understand how thrilling it is to slog through a dungeon with barely any HP left, but refusing to leave the dungeon to have a rest. This is when boys become men!So many people getting filtered by D&D basics. I think this game is very successful, if its some people's first D&D ruleset game.
Can we get some actual examples of bad writing in the game? It's also a massive cringe pit, which is the real problem. At least we didn't have to face that with the IE games, because no one can deny the writing in BG was already cringe enough.

I really tempted to buy and try this game because the consensus seems good around there.
The only major turn off is voice acting though, if only the voice is used sparingly like the old ie games but it will never happen if so.
Are there in game option to turn off the voice?
And if that not possible, can we mod in to disable voice without making the game unplayable?
Can we get some actual examples of bad writing in the game?
The arguments against voice acting are...
>it takes resources away from the rest of the project
>it railroads the writers into writing less options, so they have to record less
>it makes it hard to impossible to re-write lines, so the writers can't adapt and improve their stuff
So if the voice acting already exists and is already in the game, why do you want to turn it off? All the bad already happened, might as well get the good with it.

There are separate options to disable the narrator, dialogue audio in cutscenes and overhead audio. don't know if overhead dialogue is for random NPCs talking in the background or if it also includes party banter while travelling. The arguments against voice acting are...

I'm not against using resource for voice acting. I just want the option because i didn't like it. so is there any way i can mod it to disable the voice without making the game unplayable.
I can read lines just fine without these awful voice that makes my playing experience bad.

The only use of voice acting is to train your hearing skills in other languages. There are just way too few examples in which the VA makes the game better (Kreia) for it to be worth it otherwise.
HK-47 in the same game is an easy call. And depending on what genres you are prepared to look at, Witcher games have some good VA.The only use of voice acting is to train your hearing skills in other languages.
