Strange choice to pick Borislav Slavov as composer. He's very versatile though. Also made the Crysis 2/3 and Ryse soundtracks IIRC.

Still would have prefered Inon Zur though. But perhaps he was above Larian's budget... or simply not interested doing it.

Full VA is allways a red flag, but I do feel people are blowing it out of proportion. I mean it's Larian, writing and story will be mediocre regardless of VA amount.

She a sassy,bossy,feisty queen yo!

I am generally a companion's guy that fucks every woman possible in those types of games.

Fantadomat, I like you and consider you a friend but that is the future virtual mother of my children

Look at them brown-nosing Twitch streamers & shilling GTX 3080. It's pathetic.

Oh? And what issue do you take with nVidia's technical marvel, the immensely powerful and all-seeing, all-knowing, all-encompassing RTX 3080? Did you know the RTX 3080 boasts fast, powerful, cutting-edge performance with unerring flawlessness? It is, by all accounts, the quintessential gaming hardware and it is tough to imagine a future as a gamer in which you are not enjoying the sheer magnificence and pageantry that the RTX 3080 provides.

But don't take my word for it, ask the scientists over at this link: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3080/

Yeah, that's all true until the 4080 comes out next year. But consumers gonna consume.

Sure dude, no one ever said this. The outlook has been steadily sober to pessimistic this whole time
It has.

It should be really easy for you to search this thread and find the posts where I and others are singing its praises as the best rpg ever.

Oh wait, let me. From page one:

Is this an endorsement of the game? Does it look like praise to you?

I rated it close to games like IWD, mainly because I never found IWD that engaging and this has turn-based combat, which I find much more engaging as a rule, but I didn't even put it on par with BG2.

I've constantly noted the woke stuff as negatives. I've given praise and criticism in equal measure.

So you can sit there and pretend that I haven't based on no evidence whatsoever, but your sarcasm is just a mask for the fact that you know you're just spewing bullshit.

That's not what I don't like about it. I don't like that the rolls aren't hard enough for the stats to make a difference. A negative for not having the skill should at least apply.
Disgusting ableism. This is the RPG of the future, bigot.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Hopefully they've toned down the barrels from D:OS levels, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with a puzzle fight every now and then.

BG2 had puzzle fights without hp bloat. :M
Puzzle fight just means that you need to perform a specific set of actions to win, doesn't matter if it's enforced by HP or by making the enemy invulnerable or unreachable or whatever, it amounts to the same thing. If it's true that you can bruteforce it with a perfectly tuned party, all the better.
Sounds like a puzzle fight to me.

I beat it at level 3 without destroying any webbing at all, so although it might seem like the 'intended' way to fight it it's certainly not required. I ran out of the webs to avoid fighting where I had a clear disadvantage, retreated to where the spiders couldn't see me and snuck around the back so I could pick them off one by one. When it was just the spider matriarch (and some of the the level 1 spiderlings that were out of reach) it was easy enough to kill in a straight-up battle.

Lmao

Imagine actually dying to a giant spider in a high fantasy RPG.

God help you when you run into a monster that's a bit more intimidating than a giant pillow with 8 noodle legs.

I completely forgot I even had this item in my possession but if you're going to fight the spiders don't forget

There's a spear that inflicts additional 2d6 damage to enemies with multiple eyes. I don't remember where both of its components were since it's broken in half, but I'm fairly sure I found one of them in the Owlbear nest
I forgot this item even existed but I imagine it makes fighting the spiders even easier.

Sounds like the best kind of puzzle fight. One where you can win if you play it straight for an extra challenge.

One half is in the nest and the other is on the True Soul nearby who died in front of you.

Yep it makes that area a bit of a faceroll if you can get the drop on the spiders before they blink away. Or if you use that retarded spell that triples your jump distance, like building jumping in the Matrix.

Btw the other part of the spear is on a dying infected dwarf on the road west of the druid grove gate (he's with the two people with whom you enter the manbearpig cave actually).

I wonder how long it takes for them to add new classes to the game. I don't feel like playing current classes at all.

On the other hand, the game did make me start replay kingmaker again.

The class/race options are really bland. I get the options for drow and githyanki since they often get into contact with illithids but... No half-orcs? Only 3 cleric domains? Why?

Mote than 3 cleric domains? you want to confuse the normies and scrublords? I'll say it again, they know their audience, and they know they're not the brightest people around.

I did it without doing any of this.

The matriarch pretty much stays on her webs and doesn’t attack you head on and a mix of sleep spells and of a fighter with cleave as an attack helped me deal with the small spiders she summons.

The larger spiders are pretty easy to deal with using conventional attacks and you can also push them down whenever you get the opportunity, since they’ll take fall damage.

As for actually killing the Matriarch, using necrotic touch (both the level 1 spell and the level 2 spell) was immensely helpful in knocking about 70 hp off of her quickly. I also had the Gith put on a pair of web walking boots that are in a crate near that pantry-like area so she could chase the Matriarch down occasionally and whack her with a fear-inducing melee attack.

I died a few times before actually trying to develop a strategy, but not that many. And as others have said, there’s always other options like picking off spiders beforehand or firebolting the webs.

:nocountryforshitposters:

How many named domains were there in BG2 again?

Three gods and no actual domains.

They also may add more. This is early access and they haven’t even implemented all the race sub-types yet.

Actual spoiler:
And btw, spoiler, but there’s a priest of a different domain that’s available as a party member.
