You also can’t even get rid of them. They’re PERMANENT.

Compared to that, I killed the devil negro party member in BG3 and literally cut her head off and gave it to a party of ALL WHITE paladins.

Valerie was purposefully designed by someone to be a stronk independent wahmen in-joke because she was the most shit fighter you could generate basically.

I'm pretty sure she will also always get her ass kicked by her paladin mentor after she trash talks his order, get left with a scar on her face as reminder, and he then personally discharges her from the service entirely.

Based as fuck quest.

Supposedly you CAN win that fight, no idea what happens though.

You can. With enough pre-buffing. She still gets the scar and questline goes on as usual.

Granted, the teiflings in the expansion seemed a bit better (never finished though), but they aren’t in the base game.

Oh yeah, KM is lacking in romances, although Valerie does get better towards the end of her quest, her arc twists in a way that pissed off a lot of "stronkwamen" lol. the twins are cool and I wish they part of the base game. Naryssa can go fuck herself, anyone who goes for that ending doesnt deserve a kingdom.

There are no XP penalties, but usually high-level spells and class features are stronger than what you can gain by adding a new class to your character. By multiclassing, you also delay ability scores improvements.

The only requirement to multiclass is to have an high enough ability score in the main ability for the class you are interested in.

I stopped playing halfway through the game. Don't get me wrong: Baldur's Gate is certainly a good game. However, it suffers from the same lacks in world building and setting as Divinity Original Sin 2. Instead of depicting certain races - Tieflings, Aasimar, Elves etc. - as rare, secluded and enigmatic, they are thrown at you in quick succession and shown as everyday occurrence. Right in the beginning of the game, for example, you meet an entire settlement of Tieflings - in the vicinity of Baldur's Gate - who are just another kind of staple Humans who happen to have Horns. This 'sloppy' kind of writing was already present in DOS 2. A whole lot of potential was going to waste for quick "show effects" - stong abilities, powerful races and monsters were thrown at you in the first act, obviously to catch the attention of the players. It would have been very easy to start more slowly. Maybe to have the protagonists happen upon a human fisher's village after crashing, which is under attack by goblins. And a secluded druids grove that doesn't want to help. And then, somewhere in the third or fourth act, you might have come across Tieflings. Going fast and flashy is not always the best.
