In general, the reactivity I've seen so far is done better than most other RPGs. But sometimes game designers put all their effort into the beginning of a game, then the last parts of the game lose all of that because they ran out of development time and ship for profits.
After how successful DOS2 was and how well this has sold already I hope they'll be able to take their time and make the rest of the game as good

My hope too. I've been pleasantly surprised with the game so far. I'm not so sure I like D&D 5e in comparison to 2e or 3.5e, but since this game is my first foray into 5e, I still have lots to experiment with before I can really make a judgement.

To anybody who's through: Have I encountered a possible glitch? I seem to have all the stuff to "venture forth", however I seem to be stuck.

Checked with all the possible leads as to a cure; Nettie; the Gith in the Nortwest; the goblin priest Gutt and Auntie Ethel. Also got the information about the Moonrise Towers from Halsin's body -- actually, it's one of my main quests now to travel there.

However, when trying to exit the map (in the Northwest there is a signpost saying that Moonrise Towers would be to the West, alongside an exit to the West, the game wouldn't let me. Or is that the end and there isn't an ending proper and you're stuck in a loop until the full game arrives?

the only way forward as of right now is the underdark

It sounds like you haven't visited the underdark yet. Jump down the well in that one village in the centre of the map.

I thought that was an optional area; they had mentioned that in the first or second presentation IIRC? It's kind of weird though too as there is no objective to actually go to the Underdark...

Did you save Halsin and bring him to your camp?

I just found this, not sure whether accurate though.

https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGat...ler_is_the_second_path_to_the_moonrise_tower/ So there's a way through the Underdark to Moonrise TOwers apparently, and one through the mountains. The only lead I have in my playthrough is to go to those Towers (Halsin information retrieved from his body), no mentioning of the Underdark.

Supposedly I would be able to just take the mountain pass (which you cannot in the EA release), howerer it's not doable yet.

Should one go for even numbers in their ability points? Not sure if I should drop Dex from 15 to 14 as to add 2 extra points in intelligence for the extra point in proficiency for a skill.

odd points don't really do much besides help protect against ability score drain
and I think every point of strength improves carrying capacity

duh, just realized why ranger is in the game already
minsc
At first I thought it was odd that only one of the classes not picked by the five available origin characters had made the cut into EA.
After giving it some thought I just figured it was because they (either Larian, WOTC or both) wanted feedback on their changes to the Ranger class as a whole. We've known for a very long time that they were looking to essentially remake the class for video game purposes.

the door in Priestess Gut's room leads to her chambers which eventually leads down to the underdark

Huh, I guess I forgot about that. When I tried to open the door I had Halsin following me and he prevented me from going through the door we had agreed to take out the three goblin leaders. Are there any other ways to enter the underdark in the current EA build?

I just know you can jump down some holes to get there
