Yep; i honestly don't see why people care that much with TB or RtWP. I mean, i love a lot of turn based games, ToEE, Dark Sun : Shattered Lands and love a lot of real time with pause games like BG 1/2, icewind dale 1/2, pfkm, etc. The ideal IMO would be if you could select a mode to play. Or turn based with the option to speed up animations and have concurrent turns for the enemies and summons.

I actually do hate RTWP - in RPG context.

Outside of it - some of my favourite games are and rather need to be RTWP.
Homeworld is RTWP. CoADE is RTWP. I guess you could take the active pause out of either (it kind of wasn't present in HW1 but using pause for just camera control is already a huge boon to controllability comparing to try to catch fighters with your cursor during furballs; CoaDE didn't have pause during combat originally).

For RPG - just give me proper (preferably party-based) TB, or (preferably FPP/TPP) RT with proper hands-on (twitchy) controls and single PC (might have followers if their AI isn't too obnoxious).
RTWP is neither here nor there and shitty in all aspects in a game where you command a handful of unique, mechanically complex, but fragile, yet non-expendable units.
You spend more time mashing space than you did mashing LMB in Diablo.
