Got a question about chapter 3.

I'm sided with Gar-something. Gotta kill Orion.

Once I got into the lower city, I simply walked into Elfsong tavern and then followed down, as per Emperor's request. I kept going down and found two exits: one leads to some bhaal cultists, another to some "guild" (thieves guild?)

I know chapter 3 can unravel very easily and doesn't want you to do things in an incorrect order. Should I forget I was ever there and follow the Cundalhallow Tombstones quest or are those two separate things?

Because when I'm in the guild, the game thinks I'm supposed to be there, but I as a player have no idea what the fuck is going on.

i believe, that if you go after orion 1st, you wont be able to impress murder tribunal. Don't think there are other issues?

Is murder tribunal the alternative way to Orin or a separate quest?
its... optional content on the way?

dont stress about a3. Its packed with content and quite tiring. if you are trying to check all the boxes you are likely already too late. just... go through it. Or take a break half way through.

normally im not the one to call for quest timers, but perhaps they should have been added to a3 so that half of the quests simply disappear. It could have been a problem with implementation since stuff seem to progress based on long rests and I did whole a3 without them. Or perhaps I did one? Then spent 2h spamming long rests to get all the cut scenes out of the way

I don't think you can enter there without proceeding with the quest before?

Any good difficulty mods yet? Yosharian Haplo
I have a complete mod setup listed on my page. 99% sure it works perfectly. I think there is room left to optimise for a more interesting challenge to BG3's faceroll difficulty, but this setup goes a long way.

I've also designed a party specifically for this mod setup, playing on Honour mode. It involves using no classes that have spell slots. I think it will make for an extremely challenging run.

Nice! Does honour mode still have the retarded save restriction?

Yes. You can use Honour Mode Unlocker or whatever it's called, on the Nexus if you want more freedom with that

Man I just read your modding guide, you really go above and beyond huh. I might postpone my second playthrough until after the mod tools have been out for a while, though that Absolute Wrath mod looks absolutely tasty.

Anyone have an idea on why Voss doesn't show up in my camp when he's supposed to? Already did the creche segment and currently in Act III, but I didn't get the forced long rest with Voss as people allegedly would get after dealing with the creche.

Yes it's fantastic. Highly recommend it, at the moment I've only messed with the first few hours of gameplay but it was brutal. Not having spells really makes the game challenging.

It's piss easy to break this game, to the point where I'm bored making builds for it

I'll wait until mods have matured a bit so that there is an actual challenge worth playing for

Why not just play something that’s not overpowered
Yeah, like a druid. Or pure class Warlock.
1) not what motivates me

2) Moon Druid and pure Lock are insanely strong and in many ways trivialise the game, so trying to paint them as the underdog options is pretty funny to me

1) You like challenge. You also consistently choose to play what is the most broken. These things conflict, and RPGs will always be broken, there has never been one there wasn't. I'm not saying you should pick suboptimal stuff, I'm saying you can't have both.

2) Where did I do this..?

Developers of this game seem to be very lenient to exploits, bugs and etc. We still have some stuff that has been around since EA and they refuse to fix it. Like camp followers not in the party casting concentration spells on active characters, or exploits to duplicate summon concentration weapons, etc. At least they fixed the transmuter stones exploits in patch 6. Maybe more next patch.

In order to have some manner of challenge you have to restrict yourself here.

On my two honor mode playthroughs I had self-imposed rules such as only having pur class characters or only having 5 characters maximum in the party(no camp character cheese), etc. It is the only way. Larian is like the opposite of Owlcuck - the highest difficulty mode is the bare minimum for some challenge whereas in cuckmaker games the higher difficult modes were sadistic.

I wasn't aware this robe existed even. Arguably the best clothing piece in the game for any build based around a concentration spell.

I will use it for a shadow monk + shadow blade build on my next playthrough if some transmog mod comes to consoles with official mod support.
Shadow monk + shadow blade? That some flavor build?
...or to exploit the shadow strike double hit bug?

Yes, psych damage themed. Shadow strike included.

I don't do exploits. Also to get the bug you need to play a wymmin. No way.

Without the bug, it seemed to me that playing a Shadow Monk is not worth it for a Psychic build. But hey, it IS quite flavorful.

I already have a playthrough with the class and loved it, but I want another one with the pure psy theme(including illithid powers).

My impression is that it was a decent damage dealer(compared to other martials) with superb stealth and mobility/verticality - probably the most mobile class in the game. Huge ground movement distance with step of the wind and what amounts to a freecast misty step(no spell slot involved) which also gives you advantage on the next attack. Shadow strike is also a teleport attack. It is the forgotten realms version of X-men's Nightcrawler and very fun to play.

I'm planning this build and gear loadout:

Strenght 10(8+2 vigor potion)
Dexterity 20(17+2 ASI+ 1 ethel's boon)
Constitution 14(13+1 resilient)
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 18(16+2 Shar's mirror)
Charisma 10

Feats ASI, resilient constitution and savage attacker

Gear Loadout:
Head: Diadem of arcane sinergy(adds wisdom modifier to weapon attack damage after inflicing condition, which I will do every single round pretty much)
Body: Robe of Supreme Defences(adds wisdom modifier to all saving throws while concentrating)
Cloak: Deathstalker Mantle
Gloves: Brain Drain Gloves(cumulative wis, int and cha save penalty up to -7 to enemies when inflicting psy damage - this has great synergy with the resonance stone effect on enemies)
Amnulet: Sentient Amulet
Ring 1 : Shadow Blade Ring
Ring 2 : Strange Conduit Ring
Boots: Boots of Unhibited Kushigo(adds wisdom modifier to unarmed attacks)
Resonance stone in the backpack

The basic shadow blade attack would be 2d8 + 1d4(Strange Conduit) + 5(dex modifier) + 4(wis modifier with arcane synergy). All doubled with resonance stone. Shadow strike adds another 3d8(also doubled). All pure psychic damage. There is potential for two shadow strikes in a single round if I proc deathstalker invisibility after the first attack(assuming I start said round hiding or invisible). Also occasionally add flurry of blows to the mix(2x 1d8 + 1d4+ 5 dex modifier + 4 wis modifier). It is respectable damage output.

I might swap braindrain gloves for duellist gloves if hitting things becomes a problem. In that case might have to swap the diadem for other headgear as well. Might swap the amulet to fey semblance occasionally(though githzerai mind barrier and heroes feast already basically cancels out the resonance stone saving throw disavantage malus).

I don't know if using psionic overload for extra 1d4 damage is worth it. It will hardly break concentration, but will situationally break invisibility and stealth.

For fighting against constructs I would swap gear since they are immune to psy damage(staff of the ram probably). Against undead remove the resonance stone since it doesn't affect them.

I need transmog though otherwise my character will look like a faggot wizard in a dress.

I'm actually not sure what mods will be in the list of "officially curated" PS5 mods. Sony is a bitch with 3rd party content. I imagine transmog will be in though, at least with the option to swap appearance with other existing assets.

Also, I'm very interested in level cap removal mods(since reaching level cap early act 3 is just terrible progression), but it needs to be paired with some difficulty mods. Hopefully some of the best will be made available.

Game isn't exactly challenging even in honour mode as is.

Some of the regular illithid powers seem super strong btw. Psionic backlash in particular.
