tbh this game is everything I wished eschalon would be... it feels like it moves much faster and is way more engaging.

Seems interesting. I really enjoyed Eschalon I, but couldn't take much anymore in Eschalon II. It was just too slow and there was not enough interesting content. Which is too bad, because I love the atmosphere, gameplay and the look of those games. Never bought Eschalon III and probably never will.

English in the game is funny. It's not my native language either, but... weak up instead of wake up? Repeatedly? Don't expect much from the text/story department.

In all seriousness, though, they could have easily avoided a lot of the butthurt by just allowing the player to switch to TB mode at will.

Another snippet from a review:
Even on normal settings I starved to death just reading the initial dialogue.

I bet he neglected to say that he went afk and then came back later to find himself dead. That or the guy is a complete moron for not noticing he was taking damage while in dialogue (you see your damage in chat and it makes a sound each time).

You can agree/disagree about the concept of starving while in dialog, but FFS this guy is either a lying piece of shit or a dumb as they come. Either way, his "opinion" should be filed under "shut up stupid fuck".

Or maybe the game is just poorly designed?

You guys want to re-assert yourselves as the ultimate basement lords, go nuts :)
Just don't re-interpret facts as the ravings of morons.
- You COULD die of starvation while in dialogues. Yes, something that stupid (in the sense of lack of foresight even after 563528 months of testing) could actually happen. Hence the latest patch. Xenich, rushing as always ^^
- The game DID deteriorate from a 'proper' RPG into a farming/facebook simulator over the course of reiterations
- The game DID regress into an animal companion-centric game. Originally a gimmick, it's now me and my pony(tm) against the world

Still, incredible polish, options and UI elements to satisfy even me (am anal about those), plenty of choices as to how you you progress/solve things, nothing glaringly shallow far as mechanics are concerned, lots of evident thinking having gone into even the slightest details. Oh, and interactivity of a depth that surprised me.
Just.. as i said in the thread, the typical example of a great game getting too much feedback from basement lords, with the devs actually listening.

I didn't see it as a problem when I played. In fact, I thought it was an interesting aspect of play at the time. Why would you stop being hungry or thirsty while you are talking to someone?
The player that was whining about dying in dialog... My point stands. He was lying or just an idiot.

To think that, you would also have to claim that any time sensitive feature in a game is "poorly designed".

I thought it was an interesting concept of urgency and nowhere near as game killing as the person who was whining.

So we have mushroom guy that seems to love it, Fargus confirmed butthurt Hungarian sleeper agent, Xenich seems to be a fan.... report, Luzur?

Don't speak for me you worthless piece of shit. Learn to read you fucking moron.

I only commented on a specific feature as an "interesting concept of urgency" in the face of some mainstream idiot whining about the game being too hard, I am not a fan, nor have any opinion as to the game being good or not as I have not put enough time in to have an opinion.

Though don't let literacy get in the way of knowledge, it is not a requirement for stupid people.
