I've had the most bizzare issues with GOG, as usual.
I first installed it at my 4k PC, through Galaxy. Then I made the mistake to install it on one of my laptops, again through Galaxy. Galaxy synched the settings file, and as a result, when I started it on the laptop, the UI had scaled to 200% and the menu items which were partially visible were not responding to clicks. The devs shouldn't sync the UI scaling part of the settings. Eventually I had to download the old school installers from GOG and install the game on both my laptops with them. Actually much better to play this way and without Galaxy IMO.

Same issue happened to me with the Steam version. All you have to do is set your desktop to 720p, the game will display properly then, and in the settings of the game change it to 1080p, exit and set your desktop back to 1080p. Voila, game works. You seriously uninstalled and did all this nonsense to fix this issue?

Same happened to me but I couldn't change my resolution because I couldn't click on the ok button.

I had to use a different computer and then transfer the config file with the correct resolution.

I also changed my desktop resolution without much success. I don't remember if I tried all of them though.

I got an event in my current iron man campaign. A cultist joined me thanks to a random event. He had amazing stats, but he promptly died in the next battle.

I've just been taking caravan quests and the odd one skull "destroy x" missions. So far so good, although I am waiting to find out what the "sacrifice" events entail.

Edit: also, the whip has been a HUGE life saver. I use the weapon grab ability, basically deactivates a dangerous unit for a turn.


EDIT 2: My cultist team is still going strong. I had another interesting event - an old god appears and implies that you ought to sacrifice one of two party members. You get to pick which one, and the result is that the brothers with the candle perk (I think it's just the cultists) get another candle added to the perk icon and it becomes stronger. Also, your non cultists get pissy about the whole human sacrifice thing.

yeah I originally planned for it to be like small group of 90% percent cultists like straight up chanting nasheeds when charging into battle but I think the recent loss of mustafa and lack of an army of faithful to fuel my ranks I will turn it into a an aesthetic of a more like esoteric order at the back of an ordinary seeming mercenary company, using the kuffar to further the dealings of Davkul without their knowledge

Actually it is fixed. Came a patch when I was typing this. Got ambience sound again.

Any tips on the beast slayer start? The starting funds seem so low.. should I just recruit one guy and get them well equipped? Another problem is that they start with really bad morale.

I'm playing Cultists on my channel at the moment. It's fun enough, random cultists join you from time to time, whipping people is based (it only felt wrong to whip dogs), but I'm not sure if dudes with the Cultist background will join me for free? Only guys I've got for free were popup messages where I just got a guy like that.

What sort of barbarian band was that?

I've started to rate early thrall/reaver bands as easy loot.
They're much easier to deal with than common brigands.

Big band of thralls. Problem is most of them had throwing weapons too so i had no other choice but to charge.

They are easy to kill but early human fights are more about breaking enemy morale and with barbarians it's not working. Even when i killed almost all of them last two just decided it's not worth the trouble and walked off with ok morale after killing one more muhammed.

I don't know why thought of the narrator from Darkest Dungeon when I read this. I cannot imagine what it would be like for the narrator to taunt you each time a bro dies or you lose.

Been having some issues with transitioning to and out of battles, the game just sort of hangs (music keeps playing) and I'm forced to alt+f4, resulting in having to load up last manual save as the auto-save prior to the fight doesn't work. Hopefully the hotfix addresses that.

Man, the barbarians have really made the early game a hellscape, at least if you are anywhere near the north as the militia origin. One reaver is enough to murder your whole team. I rather take 2 raiders than a reaver anyday!

Reading this thread is making me want to start playing again. The game has come a long way since the release version.
