Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Bubbles In Memoria
You have to ask why somebody would inquire about the possibility of giant mechs duking it out in space?
Oh. I wouldn't mind missions set in surfaces of space stations.
But the impression that I got from the video was that the question was more about space ship pew-pew (Which was kinda taboo in Battletech universe if I remember correctly.)

That's a good question. For this game, I don't mind if the pilots don't have much to say. I just want to bust some steel with my mechs.

I dunno, I'd welcome a bit more personality than "This is Hunter, enemy vehicle destroyed!"

(Also, I really hope that if they get balls-deep with the storyline and make a sequel/expansion/whatever-you-call-Shadowruns-after-Returns that they take the effort to at least make Stefan Amaris not OPENLY act like a villain caricature (I mean, Amaris' speech to his troops is downright hilarious) in background blurbs and sources provided. I'd also really welcome a chance to help out Big Boss Focht at Tukayyid in a second campaign/game/whatever.

Some personality would be nice as far as flavor text, visuals, combat floaters and what not.

But with the Shadowrun writers, they better not delve too deep into this stuff. Unless you want to double as the crew's therapist.

Turn based pvp? GIB! Won't pledge until it reaches that stretch-goal.

Hey, the game takes place during a period of history that has seen the worst wars in human history, unprecedented drops in standards of living, totalitarian societies engaged in hundreds of years of war (Liao, Kurita), and interstellar scale social and economic disintegration. Damn right your crew should have a thing or two to say about how fucked up it is that they are fighting a war using super-advanced weapons and technology scavenged from wherever possible, from battlefields to hundreds of years derelict NBC-shelled industrial complexes, while most of the world around them is early-21st century level in terms of technology, but at the same time about the reversing trends with the Great Houses shifting focus from strategic destruction and sabotage to rebuilding. And, you know, the whole mystery of "two-thirds of the entire Star League Defense Force just vanished from known space, what do you think happened to them?". There's a whole lot of stuff they could say about all sorts of things, even just "how did you get a functioning BattleMech?" is a pretty big subject for merc-talk in this period.

(Also MechCommander is pretty exceptional among squad games in how it represents team personality, what with the video blurbs you get from the pilots during game when they report/complain at you, probably only stuff like Jagged Alliance 2 did it better; I'd like them to go for full RPG approach in Lance characterization, though I suppose it's acceptable to split between "premade Lance with extensive personality" and "ground-up custom Lance with limited pre-canned responses)

EDIT: 100,000 dollars in ten minutes?

What the fuck? They want a million kwabucks for a single-player story campaign, and 2.5 million for multiplayer? And if they don't get it they're going to release a single-player skirmish game? Why would they even bother?

Why not? Must everything have a story, Night Goat?

Anyway it already looks like they're going to make it.

Because they know they're going to succeed.
