I'm playing in 4K and the game looks great. It's pixel perfect when fully zoomed out, but even zooming in, while indeed a bit blurry, still looks very nice. And this is on a 55" TV/monitor.
lol, some garbage misrepresentation of the complaints and Beamdog fanboying. Good for Beamdog at least, half-assed overpriced re-releases with what are essentially mods slapped on seem to have quite a fanbase on reddit and even among some on this site. Fools and their money as they say. From the looks of things, most gators moved onto bashing Mass Effect Andromeda now. However, most of the hate for PST:EE seems to come from the old school gamers from sites like RPG Codex, they pretty much use the same nonsensical arguments based on fear and deliberate misinformation.
For instance, quite a few of them have accused Beamdog of "stealing" mods, even though Beamdog have the actual source code to the Infinity Engine and went beyond what simple mods can do, and credited modders when necessary. One guy I saw threw a tantrum because the trailers didn't credit Black Isle, a company which has been dead for 15 years, and ended up creating a Steam group and GOG mix dedicated solely to bashing Beamdog. How sad.
I've been involved in the Beamdog community since 2012, and I'd say that these bashers are some of the pathetic people around. They seem to think that remastering a game for a new generation would somehow devalue their own games, and to that end, they must go out and make sure no one else can enjoy the Enhanced Editions.
Hey at least they admire what this place stands for, even if the discourse is too triggering for them.Ugh. That's always been the conundrum... You have to admire the community of these hardcore fans for sticking so long with these classic titltes, but it seems a lot of them have really shitty, awful attitudes that nitpick the most useless, petty shit.
They nerd gatekeep this stuff and drive away the young fans that are actually curious of checking these games out. No wonder so many fandoms eventually die off.
I hope they make the combat easier and more intuitive. I love these CRPG games but I can't get myself to care about the combat.
He is back!! Fast, let loose the guard dogs!I'd say it's more like paying someone to install a wall mount for your new TV, or hang a cabinet in your bathroom. Sure, you could do it yourself, but if you can pay a few bucks to someone for added convenience factor and knowing it will be done right, why not?
Here are a few impressions from playing the game last night I posted on the 'Watch:
Yep yep. And there are little cool features that aren't necessarily game-changers, but improve the game. I like the Gray Scale When Paused feature. It just changes the screen composition to gray scale whenever the game is paused and adds a bit of a neat atmosphere. The Tab highlighting is well done and useful, and the resolution @ 4K is pixel perfect when fully zoomed out and looks great.
The Frame Rate feature is also a bit interesting. Apparently the original game is locked at 30 FPS, and it is one of those games that changes speed at higher framerate. They enhanced the framerate to 40, I believe, which makes the game smoother and a slight bit faster. You can set it to 30 (original), or even 50 which makes the game a bit faster, but may cause audio sync issues.
The text is crisp @ 4K and the Font Size slider does a good job of making it a very readable size. The Quickloot works and is a button toggle. Not sure if it's an EE feature but the Double Cursor Size button is also great as it makes the cursor easier to see and read on screen.
So far so good.

hahaha i hate myself i am a true faggot of the decline
Hi! Mind pointing me to the mod that gives us a zoom in feature? It's been something I've wanted for ages, but I just now learned there's a mod to do it. Where can I get it? If you have the time, I would also like to have the mod that overhauls the UI to get rid of the unnecessary clicks for spell casting and so on. Thanks!
You're welcome. Probably also has a better quality due to better interpolation.

Which mod improves the pathing routine of PS:T to Siege of Dragonspear lvls?
Why do you keep thinking about being raped as a point of reference?Anything is better than "Well at least they didn't violate me worse than they did, better give them $15 as a thank-you."
Are you speaking for yourself? I would've probably just paid ghostdog and co for their mods, been using them long enough. But having MCA come back after 18 years to tweak it, and still passing on this. You're one miserable clam"I cannot use installers, I have no idea what is going on what even are mods please help me"
Let's be honest: He's prettiest in the image than in the game itself.
This is a fairly random aside, but it strikes me as really weird that we wind up knowing so much about the writers and even the composer and voice actors behind PS:T and so little about the artists. The game's visuals are fantastic and there's no way the game would've made nearly the same impression without them, but I have literally no idea who did the concepts or the execution, and when I look it up on Mobygames, the name Tim Donley means nothing. It's kind of sad that the industry maintains such a blindspot.
In what shitty program did you upscale it? For comparison look at how it looks with wide screen mod at 1080pAlso, this is how I had to endure PS:T in my playthrough, thanks to the Widescreen mod's miniscule UI and lack of a zoom in button for easier loot grabbing.
Original resolution, upscaled by 2 (Nearest Neighbor).
My eyes hurt all the way through. This Enhanced Edition, to me, is a true God send.
I don't understand. Did they elaborate the base of these 'legal reasons'? I assume it would be from the government. How could a company like Bethesda can get away with listing both Interplay Inc. and Black Isle Studio for Fallout 1 & Fallout 2 respectively? Did they take it to the court and somehow won? And who's this 'someone' who would sue Beamdog for listing the ACTUAL developer of the original game? They already explained that. It’s for legal reasons. If they put the Black Isle logo there, they could probably be sued by someone.
You know I'm starting to think that the obsessive zoom crew here driven by something different. I think they may have watched too much Japanese porn and now get sexually aroused at the sight of anything blurry and pixelated like some pack of Pavlovian (Beam)dogs.

and zoomed in over 4 times:
Some of us like being able to zoom in to get around the rather small loot found lying around the game. None of us actually thinks "the game looks beautiful when zoomed four times", as that RPS reviewer apparently expected the game would look like.
