As long as GOG is still around, I don't think that will happen. All delisted games can still be downloaded if you own them. I don't know if that's in the contract or if a publisher could remove that option if they wanted to, but so far it hasn't happened, even in cases where the game was removed for copyright reasons.

I played BG2 for the first time in 2015, and it was the enhanced edition.

The added content played seamlessly from my perspective, and I would not have been able to tell the difference if I didn't research it online.

I have IWD EE on my IPad and it's actually quite decent.

I've played Siege of Dragonspear on PC which is ordinary, and I've heard the extra content in BGEE is a bit jarring.

If they take a less intrusive approach it doesn't have to be a disaster.

I'd have rather they did IWD2 myself as I have no desire to play PST again, but if they don't go overboard with new content and the game becomes more accessible to a new audience can't see the harm (actually if they left the content alone and improved the combat that might be worth playing).

It is easily accessible and the graphics aged well. Arcanum graphics is a different matter but these talentless hacks could never improve it and with P:T they will only add wide screen mod and be done with it. This will be a disaster even if they won't change or add anything to the story.
