Why are the japanese so afraid of real people? 99% of their games are this endless formulaic anime shit with cartoon characters.
Why don't the japanese get the same scorn as Bioware and Bethesda does?

I guess, because it's a result of their culture being so different from the western one. And when Biowhore or Beth do that, they just take being a weaboo on a company level and that's fucking bullshit.

That said, I'm so goddam drunk I don't know what I just posted.

I'd say its because the japs can occasionally make good stuff. Take Whiskywolf's anime blog for example, he lists several decent-very good anime and gives reasons why. In terms of games they have some good shit as well, the entire SMT Franchise (series?) and the Etrian Odyssey games on the DS, are examples off the top of my head. Also, Rance, I guess.

Because the Japs also made Valkyria Chronicles and BlazBlue.

Why do these people have to exist?

A more interesting questions is "who are those people?".
I'm serious. What kind of people have such an interest in digital romances?
Are they the same kind of people who makes and uses "sexy" mods for games like Oblivion?
Are they story fags?
Are they the same kind of vulgar people who think persians (cats) is the epitome of beauty?
Are they EMOs?
Are they love sick people who has no chance of romance in real life?
Are they mostly female?

Don't knock on Chris Priestly. The young Chris Priestly used to be a muscular bouncer, wrestler, and bodyguard.

....who is Shiva?

I finished reading it. Goddamn. What a rape. Hawkwind was actually the manipulator of everything to retrieve the Skull of Mondain and kill Lord British. Deane, the Avatar-to-be, was merely seeking out his bro, Shiva, who went missing after going on the Quest of Avatar.

Turns out Shiva was sick and tired of virtues and decided to be evil after failing to master the virtue of Humility. In the end, he chose to serve Hawkwind.

Cue brotherly love between Avatar and self sacrifice to trigger redemption and defeat of Hawkwind....as Avatar himself sacrifices himself before the Codex to save Britannia and averted the fourth crisis.

The End.

PS: They even have 'mandrake root appears during new moon' cameo. Wtf. It's those little things that made me realize they really 'read up' on the lore before writing this shit...but chose to knowingly japanize it so much - ARGH!

Heh, the Codex also certainly has its fair share of Internet Tough Guys. :smug:

Indeed, indeed. As most gaming-related online communities do, also. :)

Wait...there's TWO of us like that? Or did I just forget that I made an alt? :smug:

Edit: of course, I'm not entirely sure what use I'll have for an early firearm loading device. It isn't as though I own a musket with a 15 inch long barrel to use it with. Damn. I wish I had a 15 inch penis instead. That would be much more useful. :(

But it's still Ultima. Meanwhile, we get Halo and Mass Effect comics. Just like they're making dungeon crawlers while we're going through a dating sim craze.

What's wrong, western civilization?

the Halo comics are actually pretty entertaining

edit: it's early here and I don't remember where I got the link, but this is hilarious
