Man, will the autism triggers never stop, huh?
Since you keep dismissing everything the userbase says in chase of Googlebux, I'm not wasting my time anymore so I'm unsubscribing from this feedback-pretend thread. I'll block all features that are downgraded just like I block all ads since it's my right, and I won't donate anymore. Enjoy Googlebux.

Is there an option to disable the online status symbol so that it doesn't show on avatar images? To be clear I do not want to see the status symbol of other people, I am not talking about hiding/showing my own status.

Wat.gif? A font at a given size has fixed dimensions in units of pixels. A screen with a high DPI will make a font that looks fine on a 'normal' DPI screen look small. Are you mixing up terms or something?
The DPI setting available to the web browser isn't the screen's physical pixel density but Windows scaling ratio. My 4K screen has optimal scaling of 175%. With scaling settings displayed, viewport width is 2159px (with no scaling it's just below 3840). Fonts have more pixels available to them while taking the same amount of space (using a ruler on the screen) as 96 DPI on a 1080p screen.

Install the Stylus browser extension. Then:
CSS:
.message-avatar-online { display: none !important; }

But the text size stays the same?

Or do people buy a new monitor every year that doubles their resolution? Lmao
I know quite a few people who buy new monitors every couple of years, and they've increased their resolution a number of times over the last 20 years. It's a pretty common thing with gamers, really.

Then doesn't it actually make sense to transition the font size from 13px to larger through browser-reported DPI when the transition value is arrived at from consideration of un-scaled (100%) physical DPIs? I.e. if 13 px font looks fine at a physical 100 DPI, it will also look fine at a virtual (non-100% scaled) 100 DPI, because the font itself is now scaled as well. Likewise for 115 DPI, if it looks too small in real physical DPI, it will be too small in virtual DPI terms as well. That is because, while the 13 px font is scaled, it's still scaled to *the equivalent of* 115 DPI, which we've established is too small for the gentle eyes of some viewers.

You seem hung up on the fact that you don't know if the DPI you can calculate through available width parameters is physical or virtual, but I don't think it matters as long as you're using the correct threshold for transition?

This also needs to come back:

And the background image on top:

Also, it is an abomination that links are now all white like the text while random text elements are blue. That is the opposite of usability.

It's a bitter pill to swallow that the default we transitioned from is now opt-in, but I do appreciate you providing it.

I prefer the small font version, but the padding could be reduced as well.
Done. I'm worried decreasing padding further (now it's 9px from 12px) will make it look to busy.

It's now 11px. Remind me tomorrow. Right now I can't tell if 10px is too dense or not, it's all a blur.

I just decreased it to 9px from 12px and it looks almost too busy. Let's not decrease the padding any further.

I think OG was 10 px, want to try that? I agree w/ HansDampf fwiw.

edit: the "watched threads" page isn't using the same divider as the forums list or topic lists within forums either, fyi. It's the old low-contrast divider.

edit2: forums list looks much much better. Get the old header and troll back and this will be hard to tell from the old site.

What is a push notification and which alert option shows alerts when a post is quoted/replied too? I think I have no idea how forums work.

It's basically configurable alerts to either your browser or mobile phone when X happens on the forums. E.g. on your mobile, you'd get a notification that someone quoted you, or replied to a thread you're watching, etc.

In the fluid templates, some elements should still be fixed width like polls.

Something you need to enable if you want:

"ADULF HITLOR FAN KLUB reacted to your post in Let's heckin' play CUCKOLD SIMULATOR with
slurp.png
Slurp this person's delicious asshole"

to pop up on your screen while you're watching Netflix with your family.
