Something you need to enable if you want:

"ADULF HITLOR FAN KLUB reacted to your post in Let's heckin' play CUCKOLD SIMULATOR with
slurp.png
Slurp this person's delicious asshole"

to pop up on your screen while you're watching Netflix with your family.
I was wondering why anyone would turn such an annoying feature voluntarily on, but I see now how some people might enjoy it.

Taluntain can you please at least place "share" (who uses this?), "report" and "bookmark" under a drop down menu? Buttons that see so little interaction (particularly share and bookmark) should not be taking so much space in every post and every page. Utility design for convenience should be geared towards use frequency, we do not have that many geriatrics here to not be able to use drop down menus and if we have geriatrics they should know how to bookmark a post or share a link.

I can't believe how much clutter these little symbols create when the browser is minimized.

What is a push notification and which alert option shows alerts when a post is quoted/replied too? I think I have no idea how forums work.
See below. Also, I recommend to disable desktop notifications for ratings for less dopamine abuse.

In the fluid templates, some elements should still be fixed width like polls.
Share some links/screenshots.

Alright, I have activated "Quotes your message" and left everything else deactivated. I only want notifications when someone replies to me directly. But what effect has "Mentions you in a message" and "Reacts to your message"? What triggers these notifications?

And thanks for the stylus code, it is better than my first solution using add block, which removed the icon as well but didn't stop there as it insisted in taking the avatar along with it ...

It's now 11px. Remind me tomorrow. Right now I can't tell if 10px is too dense or not, it's all a blur.
The "unread" image needs to be moved a couple pixels to the left. Other than that, the thread list is actually looking good now.

why do we need 1 button and 1 link for reactions? and both are brofists? This doesn't make any sense.

Before, when you click on a thread on the main page it would just take you to the newest post. Now, I have a feeling it opens the thread on a random page. Is that a bug or a feature?

"Mentions you in a message"
Blutwurstritter I just mentioned you using the @username BBCode syntax.
"Reacts to your message"
Reacts == rates a post.

Done.

Strange, the issue where the avatar overlapped with the "unread" folder is gone by itself. Given that, I commented out the code that moved the avatar to the left on small display sizes. Please report it here if the issue reoccurs! Added the fix back again.

The rating system is a total disaster, I have to click twice or even thrice to do what I used to be able to do with a single click.

I think the forum looks much better now. Thanks Taluntain and Twiglard (and whoever else that may have contributed, I don't know) for the impressively quick turnaround.

I'll still keep following this thread to see what kind of autistic nitpicking shows up, because after the extreme nothingburger about font size, I'm sure more will follow.

Also, if it's not too much of a hassle, can we have the hyperlinked Messages counter back on the posts' sidebar? It was useful for doing a quick scan of what the poster had recently written, and discovering new users more generally.

The share one could probably be nuked altogether since I took out all the other social sharing buttons as well. There might be an option somewhere to turn it off. Report is a basic function so it shouldn't be hidden. That just leaves the bookmark icon. Which is pretty cool, because it's an internal XF bookmark, not a link to make a browser bookmark. It puts a post in a list of internal bookmarks under your account, here. This will likely be highly used when people figure it out.

The problem with this is more that Twiglard moved everything into that one line, when the Edit, Report and other links from a usability POV have no business being on top of a post, because that means having to scroll up and fish for them there every time when you finish writing/reading a post, instead of them being immediately available from the bottom where you finished writing or reading. This is just one example where blindly copying bad design from before keeps perpetuating bad usability and contributing to new problems which wouldn't exist if every single part of the interface wasn't being remade to look like a 20 year old interface.

Forum developers implement small but meaningful changes that contribute to usability and other factors over the years and if you just bulldoze over it all because you're unwilling to even consider that something may be a change for the better, things like this happen.

I think the default font size in posts should be a little smaller.
Scroll to the bottom left of the page, click on the style link, select one of the Small Font styles, profit.

mobile version needs intra-thread page navigation at the top of threads as well as bottom. Right now it’s just at the bottom.

edit: to be more specific, it’s the narrow mobile version. When in landscape mode the mobile version has page navigation on top as well bottom of threads.

Wait, something isn't right. Where is the tophat parrot!?

It'd be interesting to try out the rating pop-up activating on a mouse-over. Wasn't it like that at first, or am I imagining things?

It also could be a bit wider, horizontally? The pop-up window is very tall, which means you'll have to scroll should you press the Rate button while it's in the middle of the screen.

Wow, this is shaping up really nicely! Huge improvements since yesterday! I really like it now and prefer it to the old one, I'm serious.

The ratings bar looks a lot better now. One (very minor) suggestion: the rounded 1px border is a nice touch, I'd lower the opacity to 50% however so it stands out a little less. It doesn't quite pass the squint test (one of the best tricks ever an artist friend taught me ~20 years ago).

I would also support a donation drive to help support their efforts, despite @Taluntain’s all too human fallibility regarding his preferences vs group preferences ;)
