I'll do one better and not even bother.
If people pirate the shit out of it, and it bombs, it will just be another reason for them to DRM the fuck out of games with that online always shit.
And I don't like wasting my time anyway. This will waste my time.

Edit: To finish it up: FUCK KEN LEVINE

10 reasons why BSI will be GOTY:

10. If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It

the core gameplay hasn’t been “casualised” or toned down

9. Columbia

you need only look around for a few minutes to see blatant racism running rampant

8. Elizabeth

she’s not like Resident Evil 4′s Ashley or the countless other annoying, helpless lambs you have to escort in games

7. The Skyhook

6. Graphics

This is a gorgeous looking game, and though it’s always easier to make bright colours crackle compared to dark murkiness, there’s no denying the absolute stunning quality of the graphics. If you’ve got a gaming PC that can handle high-end gaming, then this is an absolute must,

5. It Doesn’t Hold Your Hand

Unlike most games of the type, Infinite doesn’t litter the screen with objectives and markers telling you exactly where you need to go

4. It’s Refreshingly Long

BioShock Infinite, however, knows the score. This is a game that at the lower end will take skilled players around 8 or 9 hours, but those keen to explore the bustling city of Columbia could spend around double that with ease

3. There’s A Twist (And You Won’t See It Coming…Again)

The reveal might not be quite on mind-blowing par with the original game’s revelation, but it’s still a brilliant exclamation point,

2. Voice Acting

1. It Has Saved The Genre

BioShock Infinite has set a high standard for the remaining 9 months, one that the vast majority of games will be unable to compete with

And 8-9 hours is "refreshingly long" now? The fuck?

:decline:

The first Bioshock was 12 hours so that's probably an übermarathon, and SS2 was 15, so that must be some kind of record.
Deus Ex at 24 probably causes a rip in the fabric of spacetime through its sheer longness.

We all know that sales are 90% hype-driven. If you renamed Dark Souls to Call of Duty: Medieval Warfare with no other changes it would sell 5 million easily. For an ARPG produced by a little known company it did exceedingly well. If you want to compare, compare it to another game in the same genre like Kingdoms of Amalur.

Reckoning, 38 Studios first game, has outperformed EA's projections by selling 1.2mm copies in its first 90 days
1.2 million of a new title in 3 months>1.2 million of a sequel in six months.

Does anyone seriously think that including a "no really, this is actually hard and you will die often" mode in BioShock Infinite would have caused it to sell less? I would argue that publishers would start seeing more profit if they started making hard modes actually hard. Perhaps not from increased direct sales, but certainly from less second-hand sales as Gamestop won't have 50 used copies on hand the day after release.
I would probably feel the same if I was exposed to the average playtester or focus group.

It actually does take a modicum of effort to make a challenging 'hard mode.' New Vegas had a 'hardcore' mode that wasn't hard in the slightest.
Sawyer didn't want to increase the difficulty to the point where Fallout 3 fans wouldn't like it. JSawyer is the game he would have made for himself.

That would probably make Divine Divinity the black hole of PC gaming then.

Well I was just talking about shooters, which in general tend to be short. My point is, even compared to other shooters and even its own predecessors, 8-9 hours is ridiculously short and almost CoD-level. Calling it "refreshingly long" is pure marketing spin, probably conjured up in the midst of a severe Mountain Dew-induced high.

8-9 hours counting the cutscenes and the railroad parts where you just spend time talking with Elizabeth, so the actual game is shorter than 8-9 hours

Wat? Maybe they figured out they don't need quest markers in corridor shotters, just like Half Life 2.

Elisabeth is a quest marker anyway. I guess that's true though, you're not held by your hand, you're held by your genitals.

Except for the part where the 1.2 million of Dark Souls specifically doesn't include the Japanese sales. So yeah, Dark Souls sold a hell of a lot better when you add in an extra half million. Not to mention the PC release, though that's an unknown quantity (but probably a significant one if the sequel is going PC on day 1).

In the same article he moans that 9 Hours are too short a few lines above, infinite wins only because yo are able to roam the streets for double that Tiime in Case the paint on your wall is already dried up and so you have nothing better to do.

HA! 200 million for a 9 hour cinematic experience.
What's that cost per hour? 22+ mil per hour. That's awful.
Torment was made on a spec of that budget and we still talk about it.
Infinite will be a distant memory in 18 months.

A Disney girlfriend sounds terrible. She'd probably not even kiss you until you're married, only have sex in the missionary positon for procreation and consider glorious oral sex a sin. HHR!'s dream girl pretty much.

Not to mention she'd sing about it the next day in all the embarrassing details.
