Blood-starved beast. +3 weapons, level 27, I felt like I was weak for this fight. Barely made killed him on my 7th try. He has a grab attack that kills you instantly and is bullshit.

Also, the hunter on the roof is annoying as fuck. He fell to his death. :yeah:

:hmmm::rage::what:

This is the state of gaming journalism in 2015. I dont even ...:dead:

Actually, articles like this one work in favor of Bloodborne, at least in my eyes. If every shitty journo from every popamole site was giving it cumdripping reviews, I'd suspect that sony had overdone it with the doritos (because let's face it, a fair amount of doritos has definitely been given). If the souls games weren't hated by some and scared away some other people (more-so shitty ign journos), the rest of us wouldn't like them so much.

Progressing through the first area of Bloodborne, on the other hand, means getting past at least 15 minutes’ worth of extremely nasty, lethal creatures that never change from one attempt to the next.

but it takes 45 seconds to reach the cleric boss door from the central yarunam lantern...

i love these kinds of articles that come out whenever a game with some difficulty is released. i love it because its better than "10/10 didnt get past capra demon" bullshit that journos usually do

Yeah that's the boss that I actually had problems with, rest of the game should be smooth sailing

I saw this video after the fact:

The video shows how to "cheese" the shit out of that boss. Time to git gud at parrying...

Where and when? You mean clipping attacks through walls?

That's a game feature. :troll:

Anyways, I did some PvP the other day. Invaded a couple other people and lost (I gank into my first gank too! they were waiting for me! :troll:). Few notes:

- Invader has full access to blood vials.
- Your invasion starting point is the exact spot in your world where the game connects to someone.
- The speed of PvP makes dark souls look like a bunch of grandma's fighting it out. The 2-hd Hunter axe was WAY too slow for example.
- When you die as an invader, you return back to the last lamp with all of your echoes. No Blood Echo stain is left behind.

I take back what I said about the healing system before; I really don't have a problem with it. Having over 20 vials also makes exploring easier. So far five bosses down. No real problems yet; don't think this is any harder than the Souls games except for DS2.

PVP from what I've seen seems to be all about fast weapons and healing. Biggest issue is that if you pvp for a while you don't get replenished, so you either have to warp to nexus n back or suicide then grab your blood echoes to replenish. Seems... tedious, donno why lanterns don't work like bonfires from ds1 given how you are limited in consumable items (and from what I can tell, it seems it was intended to use 5-10 bullets per PVP bout.)

Cannon seems to be a good way to catch someone while healing if they're low enough. I'm guessing they'll nerf it's attack speed.

Not confirmed but suspected: If you are near the enemy's location you are more likely to invade, so it's not like using an orb -- it seems there's a 'radius' or something.

I don't really get the blood vial/ silver bullet system either. After a certain point they are easy to farm, so it just becomes a nuisance and breaks the flow of the game. If they want them to drop from enemies then fine but lanterns and dying should replenish them fully. I honestly don't see what they were thinking with this system.

watching elajjaz find some neat (silly) glitches, game has... quite a few

For example, from the starting point in central yharnam, you can jump over a fence that takes you to the shortcut you open from the forest -- tho this isn't really a glitch, more like a skip/unintended path like the many in DS1

Hopefully from doesn't patch it out, these emergent non-glitches are interesting and add a lot of life to the game

For me, learning to play Bloodborne was tediously repetitive and very rarely fun.

That ign article is retarded.

However, that appreciation has limits that were soon overwhelmed by monotony; after that, it’s boring and annoying and I just want to get to something I haven’t seen before.

Hey look, it's DSPs brother!

While it's accurate that Blood Echoes act as a currency, the context in which he said this clearly shows he's a butthurt cunt. Apparently he had a twitter melt down as well.

Keep up the good work Fromsoft! :troll:

Anthony Davis while this may be true, even a broken retarded CoD causl clock is right twice a day. He also posts false information (ex: claiming Cleric Beast gives nothing when in truth you get the Sword Hunter badge to unlock the Kirkhammer)

I read his review and it just reeks of DSP stupidity.

Agreed - he got ONE thing right.

Speaking of the Kirkhammer... and the other awesome strength weapons...

I SHOULD HAVE GONE STRENGTH. I've done it that way for every other souls game. Why did I go Skill and Whip?

Yes, the cane is gentlemanly as hell, and the whip animations are FUN, but the damage is such garbage compared to Str weapons.

I am so dumb.

Hunter's Axe
Kirkhammer
Ludwigs Holy Blade

yer missin out bro

I wanted to be a gentlemen though... like with a cane, top hat and monocle.

How much skill is needed? If I'm at 18 skill already, should I start over and select a Might build instead? I chose the Professional template.

You only need 12 IIRC.

I started as a Military Veteran. Never touched skill in level ups.

Hunter's Axe is amazing two-handed btw. The charge attack is spin-2-win and can even knock bosses over.

Anthony Davis rumor has it that there's no respec option in this game. It's your call. The game is still new so your build may be worth it later on.

EDIT:

Ok guys, we need to establish something.

Shield quote:
"A crude wooden shield used by the masses who have arisen to join the hunt.
Hunters do not normally employ shields, ineffectual against the strength of the beasts as they tend to be.
Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity."

From making fun of the "masses".

Video demonstrating it:

Question: Are there shields in Bloodborne?

Answer:
YES AND IT'S CALLED THE WOODEN SHIELD AND IT'S A PILE OF SHIT THE END
