Are these specs the same as HL2 or higher?
As for MP, will the game be moddable? It's too late for me to research this myself... :|

I wodner though have they been working on it? As it's pretty late in the game as it is since BL seems to be waiting for its release as we type... Hmm..

It uses the Source engine, and is thus what... a mod of HL2? So, it kind of looks like a no-brainer, esp if Valve has been smart about builiding the engine mod-friendly to begin with, considering how much loot CS has made them.

Volourn, last time the mp mode was even mentioned was in a gamespy thing this spring or something, so it's probably been skipped for quite some time.

Yeah, that is curious Volourn. Activision could have decided to scrap the MP feature this late in development as it may have turned out crap when they tried it.

Eitehr wya it seems odd. People say scrapping the Mp would help the SP focus would be true; but if they've been working on MP sicne the start; well the focus has already been split for most of the dev time anyways and the cost was there too.

If they hadn't worked on it at all; but we're thinking of trying to do it now then they better cancel it becuase the game si being released any month now so that's a pretty short time to all of asudden add a MP component to what would have been a SP game.

Weird logic at work there either way.

Agreed - but it might be a PR issue as well, not wanting to mention MP being canned due to risk of bad press. I guess we'll find out how things stand sooner or later - at least I know that no press has seen the MP component, and it hasn't been shown at any press event. So probably only rudimentary work done on it, if any, is my guess.

Bloodlines is going to be a total flop with the mainstream audience. You can tell just by reading the comments on Blue's News. Don't count on Troika adding multiplayer in a feature patch/addon, either.

Eh, Rex... 2-3 people at Blue's were pissed that there wasn't any mp? Hardly something I'd forsee as an issue making the game sell less. I'm cruising around in several different forae to see how this has been recieved and most treat it something they couldn't care less about - at least the majority. I guess we'll see though.

Quite a few actually pointed out not even knowing there was ever talks of an mp compoment and that they couldn't really care less, says quite a lot.

Hmm... the removal of Deathmatch multiplayer doesn't really bother me. If I wanted that I'd play a full FPS. Co-op would be cool though. Seriously though, it's not like multiplayer is the key to a good RPG.

if they market it as "the game that runs on HL2's engine" it'll sell. ride on the fame of HL2, and use it for maximum effect.

the box art though... it might just put off alot of people. Troika should seriously reconsider using another box art.

I'd say that if an RPG is going to have multiplayer, it should be co-op rather than freakin' deathmatch anyways. ToEE begs for a MP party mode.

Maybe it won't sell due to the lame ass box art. Like PS:Torment's. Could be the best game ever made, but it won't sell because people don't like the packaging. It's happened before, and there is no question that it will happen again.

Jinxed, your signature makes me queasy.

Edit: Oh god, and this made me sick. Another guy who wants to show off his 'phat l00t'.

There are enough shitty single player RPGs already. Don't want to play another Morrowind where I can't enjoy it because I keep thinking how cool it would be to play with my friends.

What the hell is wrong with these people, that they wouldn't buy a game without deathmatch? Someone please tell me that these angry, violently competitive little boys are in the minority.

Btw Rex, your posting on Blue's feels akin to Visc doom and gloom. Comedy!

You don't know if even one line of code was written for mp - you might suspect it, go ahead, but that's just bullshitting. And you know it.

That sucks. I guess I don't have to pay for the game then. I would have if it was multiplayer.
You know, that's a perfectly reasonable excuse not to buy (WHAT I REALLY MEAN IS PAY FOR) the game.

No cd key, no multiplayer mode, no qualms. That's how it is with a lot of people.

Yeah, I was pretty much bullshitting on the Blue's News page. But to be frank, it's a reasonable assumption, don't you think?

Since MP hasn't been talked about for a while, and was first rumored to be out about... 2 months ago (some previews were hinting at it), I don't think the decision is very recent. When you take into consideration that they haven't even discussed it since bringing it up in the earliest previews - I'm not even sure they were ever working on an mp component, to be frank.

But yeah Rex, you're free to make your own assumption. I just found yours a bit hasty. You might be right though.

I have pretty high hopes for this game, myself. And it's not even fantasy, which I predominately prefer. I don't even like vampires. It has excellent crossover appeal for a reason I can't pinpoint.

Just because they dropped multiplayer doesn't mean they're cutting their losses, I don't see the logic in that assumption at all.

"And it's not even fantasy"

Um.. Vampire is fantasy. Unless you gonna tell me that vampires are now realistic or worse science fiction... R00fles!

Perhaps he meant it's not D&D style high fantasy. There is indeed a distinction between fantasy at large and elf-and-dwarf junk. Like Volourn says, Vampire is fantasy, much like any other modern-day-but-hey-there's-monsters-too thing.

Yes, they're 'fantastical' but if you go by that logic then pretty much all fiction is fantasy.

In any case, you know what I meant.

I, at least, don't lump vampires in with the rest of medieval fantasy. Vampires are sort of part of a gothic sub-genre, if you ask me, along with witches and all that trash.
