An Archer RPG in the vein of Alpha Protocol... something like "Alpha Protocol done right" would be hilarious and FULL OF WIN (now I have to go slap myself for using such douchebag language as "full of win").Avellone on games he would like to revive and work onAs for me, I'd love to do: Ultima (both conventional and the spin-offs like Martian Dreams), Wizard's Crown/Eternal Dagger (love the skill-based character building). In terms of existing franchises: The Wire, Archer, X-Com RPG, Deus Ex, and System Shock.Wasteland was formerly one of the ones above, but then Brian contacted me, and made it a reality. Shiiiiit yeah

Can't say at this time. News to come!
I am pretty certain that our adult approach and PC centric development would not have been popular with publishers. It is quite nice to be developing a game without worrying about a controller interface or what happens when you are 6' away from the screen.

Are you guys friends with David Gaider? Chris, have you ever considered him a rival?

I love David. If you ever meet him, give him some beers and then ask him to critique a game, any game... and watch back and learn. And laugh. And learn some more.

Looks like Brian wants to make RPGs right until retirement. A new golden age!
Will we view the past decade, in retrospect, as "The Lost Decade"? It's kind of sad when you think about it. So much time lost, so much money and resources spent on crap.

You can tell that he wanted to write French usurpers.
I sure hope that this kickstarter thing lives and that we start getting glorious games from ages past... Then I will again after so many years, truly enjoy my gaming hobby.
I hope he does wizards crown and the eternal dagger games. You just HAD to say it.
Don't any of you guys remember your classical learning?
What's the first thing that happens with hubris!
"I'm more powerful than Zeus, I'm more beautiful than Aphrodite!" BOOM!
You need to stay involved.
There is always a chance these guys might end up working together at some point in the unforeseen future, so it doesn't make sense to be hostile and shit all over your peers in an interview. Besides that, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody like Gaider actually was fun to talk to outside of Bioware.com and after you get a few beers in him.
Yeah, I imagine that shit talking people in the industry, even if you don't like them, is a terrible career move. It pretty much never happens. Brian Fargo has been laying into publishers, but if you noticed he's not naming any names. While you can tell he does have disdain for them, he's kind of playing both sides. He is a businessman and does have to have a career if the fan-funding model doesn't pan out.
