yeah, game looks nice. Slow combat is kinda OK if there are not lots of it, not OK if have to fight thrash hordes.

Guns?? In Australia?? AHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
This is supposed to be a shitpost, but Mad Max 2 actually leaned into that with guns depicted as rare heirlooms:

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In
They should honestly fucking rename the damn things while keeping them functionally the same
It's like rulke 1 of rpg design to make the rules evocative of the setting
so triggered by this

Just for the record Australia still has firearms. Would actually be cool to use because we aren't allowed automatics - but handguns, rifles, shotguns are all commonplace in rural areas/farms where this is set. Rifles and shotguns especially.

Yeah so it would also be really, really, really cool if if some well oiled and maintained Assault rifle with couple of clips of ammo be considered as something like an end-game powerful weapon. And ammo for shotguns would be to rare to use them all the time. I know its too much to hope for...

Doesn't Australia have a military? Pretty sure they'll have plenty of automatic weapons. And they would be scattered after the fall, making it easier to get one for yourself.

Yeah I was thinking a raid on an old base would get you a few but its either 'theres lots' or 'its rare' so not sure what I would do in their place. Might be better to go for a 'low guns' setting or make automatics more of a jerry-rigged sort of affair...An interesting question I wonder the devs bothered to think about.

There is a few arms factories - but outback W.A Im not sure. Theres one on the east side called Lithgow Arms from memory, which made some of the earlier war rifles and may still make fancy ones now, but not sure that would work in this case.

Edit: Oh and the Oz military is tiny in comparision to many countries, I doubt you would see much of them in an apocalypse situation in the outback west - they would all be over east but it does depend if we go near Perth in game.

IRL there is huge iron ore deposits out west which, if the apocalypse was caused by a military invasion, would get garrisoned in order to secure the iron supply. No other reason to see much of them I'd say.

Maybe the opposite - didnt take government grants to include the black fellas/jump the hoops with the appeasement and got blacklisted somehow.

Anyone actually giving this a go?

Didn't they pull the rug from under the press right before the original launch date?

Unless the journos got new review copies and bothered to rewrite all their reviews, their old stuff would be super out of date.

You think any of those "journalist" would care?
It's weird for me that there are not a single one review. Even some completely strange games get some. And here they are saying about Fallout, so I cannot believe that nobody is talking about this.
Maybe there is still an embargo (until launch).
