I would contribute with 50 EUR/USD.
Same. I can put in $100 USD, maybe more.
I'd be in for $50-$100 USD as well.

Maybe the place to take this would be romhacking.net? I might make an account there just to see if anyone's interested.

Hey, just found out about this game! I loved watching my dad play the first one as a kid, and playing myself when I got older... On topic, though - I know a little bit about PS2 disassembly and hacking, so I'd like to offer my services to get a in game translation going before someone comes along and actually requests money out of you guys, accessibility should be free for everyone.

I'll take a look at the game tonight and see if I can handle it, then get back to y'all.

You can verify my abilities here if you so wish: https://github.com/TheStolenBattenberg/ToolsForKFIV

First up sorry for a double post, however I either don't have access to an edit button, couldn't find one... or there isn't one. Just an update to say I'm currently undertaking the base work to make a translation patch possible. You can see my latest findings here if you're the hack-savvy type, and I'll try to post updates whenever possible - but likely I'll make a thread for that instead of hijacking this one hehe.

Fair warning that this could take a while. It's certainly very doable but there's a good bit of ground work to cover before I can even get started, plus a good deal of IRL responsibilities I still have to deal with.

Really enjoyed tale of the forsaken land and a part of me would love to play busin 0 as well. Only thing has has held me back is the fact i feel like i feel like i'd spend 90% of my time thumbing through the pdf because of not being able to memorize Japanese. I feel like that would cause me to lose interest after a few hours at best, so never actually started up on busin 0. Oh and is there any updates on that patch? Figured it can't hurt to ask since it's been a good while.

Are there any updates on the translation project? I just stumbled upon the existence of this game and looked online for any kind of translation.
My dad played the hell out of the first one and I'd love to surprise him with an english version of this game. We're not native english speakers so I don't know if he'll be able to play the game with the tranlastion guide alone. With a patch on the other hand, it would certainly be possible.

So if anyone has made any advancements concerning the translation, I'd love to know! I don't know anything about creating such a patch though, but I'd be willing to help in any way possible regardless.

No idea. I am not involved with it. Though if I had to guess, I'd say that no progress has been made. Even if they were able to hack the translation into the game, they would have to rewrite/shorten a lot of dialogues, because I elegantized a lot of dialogues to make them sound less simple/robotic.

I can't read ching chong scratchings but I must say the art in these Japanese Wizardry games is usually pretty excellent and it's a shame many of these games were never officially translated.

Always wanted to play some Japanese Wizardry games, for some reason the most interesting ones never had that classical setting to make 90% of the text English, you're doing god's work

Hey, I just made an account to thank you for the guide. I'm new to dungeon crawlers and last year I finished Stranger of the Sword City, this year I already blazed through Undernauts and now I'll start Busin 0 with the guide.

This is not about translation but maybe the next best thing. Apparently Wizardy variants daphne is some sort of Busin 3 or spiritual sequel. Havent found any concrete info but must be some of the same people involved somehow or they were majorly inspired. It draws from all wizardry even the first one but the story elements, aesthetic, animations terms like ABYSS and myriad other things suggests it heavily follows these games in particular for inspiration. Hell even the name is a clue Wizardry Alternative/Wizardry variants.

Some of the boss art design was also created by Katsuya Terada (guy who drew all NPCs in the older titles). Too bad that everything else, not created by him, is just a big MEH.
Are there any mentions of the witch Aurora in this game? Or are there Robot-like entities?

Was wondering the same, havent gotten far enough in the game to know for sure, only 3 abysses (Abyssi?lol) have been released so far out of a planned 10. Each abyss counts as its own dungeon with its own assets, themes, puzzles story arc etc. There are also side dungeons and events. There is some timey-wimey stuff so there's that...

I don't think its meant to be the same world (worlds) but a separate world with its own history that has potential crossover to all other wizardry. They explain it partly through variant timelines and partly through having things cross over from separate worlds or IPS. They already did this where characters from a Wizardry novel set in Llylgamyn came over from their world for a limited event.
