I think the Steam numbers are encouraging. People want the game to be good. As we discussed here a few months ago, it's the only game in town with such a richly-realized cyberpunk atmosphere, and if CDPR do sort it out and make a decent moddable RPG out of it, eventually all will be forgiven and the game will have a respectable afterlife.
I don't understand why people want to play a game set in a dystopia so badly when they can just go outside

I always thought the "OMG! VENTS!" thing was kind of hilarious because it's basically just another hallway except without enemies when you think about it. I don't think it's good design, but people seem to love it so eh

It's a good example of the kind of thing I'd expect to see in CP2077 tbh, and why I don't place it in the same category as say, Deus Ex.
There's probably different genre categories for this and I'm just unaware of it. CP2077 has much more of a body horror theme to it.

Yeah. I think it all comes from developers who watched die hard and thought it was realistic. The vents in modern games some how got even bigger. I was playing Hitman 3 and the vents in one level opened to these giant electrical service crawlspaces the size of small hallways.

There's literally a cricket pizza topping dialog line in 2077 iirc.

And yeah, Deus Ex was dystopian, but it made you stop and think how society got there, and how quickly society was headed there. It wasn't just Keanu Reeves blathering about muh corpos etc.

because their other games had only to be "enhanced", this one has to be demolished, burned, put into a blender, burned again, rebuilt, burned a third time and then hope for a miracle.
Enhanced? Witcher 2 even after enhanced edition is missing whole act they had to cut due to running out of money I see gaymers crying about cut content in Cyberpunk but as dvd project blue admitted they cut like 50% of witcher 1 just to finish it.

Even in Witcher 3 you have major characters and plot lines cut due to running out of time/money for example Iorveth and the plague storyline that was supposed to be a major plotline carried over from witcher 2 (you still see some finished content related to it in the game like devils pit that is closed or random encounter with a plague victim or Gaunter O dimm that was supposed to be a major character in this storyline but at least he got a role in the expansion) or a whole questline featuring wild hunt attack on Novigrad. They will use some of that cut content in the Cyberpunk dlcs just like they did in Witcher 3. For example this free dlc quests were planned to be in the release version:

https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Where_the_Cat_and_Wolf_Play...

https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Contract:_Skellige's_Most_Wanted

i don't buy the tale of "limited resources". first witcher might have been, but from second on they've been shitting money.
Lol nope nigger the Witcher 2 almost tanked the whole company and this is why it's so unfinished and missing entire act in Dol blathana they didnt even have an intro cinematic before enhanced edition :hahano:. Glitcher 3 is what made them big money.

I doubt they actually cut that much out of TW1. It's already a fairly long game as it is.

For TW3, it was probably more about time than money, but that game definitely didn't need to be even more bloated.

Man, I almost completely forgot about CP2077.

Did the devs manage to improve the game up to the standards of the codex or no? And more importantly, how are the quality of sex mods?

Mechanically it's mostly just abysmal FPS drops due to the game being wholly un-optimized at this point. The extent of sex mods is model swapping on-demand vanilla sex segments. There honestly isn't that much modders can do right now. The modding community is basically at the pre-toolkit, hacking stage at this point.

They literally can't in some places. They are still doing this "lockdown" shit that didn't work the first time, against a disease that isn't particularly lethal and for which we have vaccines and treatments.

CP2077's dystopia is not as bad as real life.

Why do you disagree? The arguably most downloaded mods for Failderp 3 for example are the community patch and the new beginning where they cut out the god awful tutorial. Apart from those two what really is there? Loads of graphic texture updates and face/body improvment mods because Failderp 3 is outright hideous. There is also the True Ironsight mod because despite going FPS the game has no real shooting mechanics which just shows again what a collossal failure this game is.
So to summarize, mostly fixes for a largely broken game and fluff but not even modders can fix the hot steaming pile of turd that is the story and dialogue which are utterly abysmal even by video game standards. I am not going to bother with the fluff like texture upgrades more because that is just up to taste but that basically everybody and their dog are DLing those other mods is telling.

Bugthesda writing was always shit tier, Morrowind had some good worldbuilding but all the characters were cardboard cut outs with 0 personality obioviusly dialouge system based on wikipedia hyperlinks didnt help. Failout 3 worldbuilding is shit tier though with cavemen retards living in the rubble for 200 years not building anything but shanty towns and having no source of food. This is why I could never play those games what's the point of all this content when it's shit and gameplay is absymal at least cyberbug has some personality and character and much better gameplay than anything Bugthesda did with their rape of Fallout series.

Morrowind was at least salvagabe and had some decent creative ideas though Daggerfall was and still is superior especially now with the Unity update though both main stories are not particularly deep and Daggerfall NPCs suffer from the same problem which is due to the massive amount of NPCs in this case. Failderp 3 is just on a whole different level of terribad worse than Oblivishit as hard as that is to believe.

Divayth Fyr

  • Offer the Dwemer artifact as a gift. [Dwemer Coherer has been removed from your inventory.] "A gift? For me? How thoughtful. And shrewd. I suppose you know I am a collector. And that such a gift is bound to please me. I congratulate you on your diplomatic skills. So, why have you tried to butter me up? Come to consult the great Divayth Fyr? You have the divine disease? Want to plunder the dungeon? Or leer at my daughters?"
  • the divine disease: "The magical principles of corprus disease are elusive and miraculous, far more subtle and powerful than any conventional sorcery or enchantment. I'm persuaded that it is in some manner the curse or blessing of a god. Perhaps both a curse and a blessing. The victim, of course, cannot appreciate the marvelous nature of corprus. It saps the mind and destroys the body. But to a wizard, it is a profound and glorious mystery, a riddle worth a long lifetime of study."
  • plunder the dungeon: "When you live for thousands of years, you need a hobby. Something you love, always sparks your interest. I collect treasures, and invite thieves to steal them. I'm a collector, and a sportsman. I collect enchanted items and ancient artifacts. Have quite a few Dwemer pieces. And, as a sportsman, I love letting thieves try to steal my well-guarded treasures. Only a few rules. One, don't hurt the inmates. Two, don't hurt my daughters. My Warden and guards can look out for themselves."
  • daughters: "Not bad for someone born in a jar, eh? Charming and talented. Not daughters, really. A little project, a side benefit of my researches into corprus disease. Made them myself, from my own flesh. Nice, aren't they? Alfe Fyr, Beyte Fyr, Delte Fyr, and Uupse Fyr. Quite a comfort to me in my old age. Hah hah."

Morrowind contains enough generic, interchangeable NPCs in its cities to present a convincing illusion of a living world. However, there numerous unique, interesting characters; it's just that the presentation is understated and requires the player to put effort into exploring, reading, and making connections between various pieces of information.

I can't believe they didn't just copy some augmentations from Deus Ex, or even from Crysis (speed, strength, cloak). This is extremely basic stuff and they 100% failed at it. They were both unimaginative and lazy.
They did have a cloak. It was called Optical Camo. Gorilla Arms were the strength augmentation, and let you force open doors or hit harder.

They didn't have a speed mod, but I wonder whether there were some technical or gameplay considerations for that. Keep the player from moving too fast in X situation and breaking a cutscene or triggering it too early. I would think they did consider it, as they even did something similar to the run quieter augmentation from Deus Ex.
A critical distinction is that DX's augmentations are active feats with an associated resource cost, whereas CBP's are MMO-oriented, passive stat boosts or limited duration abilities without a dedicated resource. I suspect the planned multiplayer mode contributed to the lack of creativity in cyberware design, though they could've still been better.

Or you know that Cyberpunk predated DX by 12 years for the first DX game or 23 years for DXHR. You presume to think that Cyberpunk came out after when it was the reverse. DX took a lot of inspiration from Cyberpunk 2013. The way cybernetics work in CP2077 are true to the world of Cyberpunk as first envisioned in the 1980s when Mike Pondsmith wrote it.
Grandpa, I care about the original Cyberpunk P&P even less than CDPR does, and in case you haven't noticed, 2077 doesn't play in turns. If you're gonna make an ARPG, you're gonna get rated against other ARPGs, not a stack of graph paper. Go back to your petunias.

This is what we call a strawman when low intelligent individuals cannot address the points made. In case you hadn't noticed, but I don't give a shit about what you think. Now sit down and get the fuck out of my grill retard. Go back to being the cum streaming down your momma's legs.

LOL sure thing buddy it's very convincing when npcs are like manequins walking aimlessly around the villiage or standing in one place because those are the only things they can do. There are no idle animations for npcs they cant even sit nigger. It's not an illusion of a living world it's just a card board set made by kids.

Gothic 1 and 2 have a illusion of living world thanks to great npc routiones many animations and who would have guessed voice acting that gives character even to minor npcs. I played this shit after Gothic games and was disgusted how shitty the npc ai was not to mention the total lack of npcs routines or any idle animations simple as that Morrowind feels like a game from early 90s and sorry I wont go through 100s of fetch quests just to get to the few npcs that have some personality wen 95% of them are totally forgettable.

Even bugthesda realised how pathetic their "living world" was so in Obliturd suprise they added idle animations and routines for npcs so they can actually do something more than stand in one place 24/7 and voice acting :hahano: if Morrowind is a convincing illusion of a living world for you then :hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano:

Now that I remember my distant youth and the year 2004 mod that added idle animations for npc (like sitting, drinking, playing a lute, smoking and other shit) was very popular.

Imagine modders having to add basic shit like this :lol:

You are preaching to the choir here. Few believe that Morrowind is better than Gothic. Most consider Gothic 1 and 2 to be among the best RPGs ever. That does not mean that Morrowind despite its glaring flaws does not have some decent content/NPCs.

Edit: Also Oblivicrap, really? The game as a whole is vastly inferior to Morrowind. A little extra animations and at times terrible voice acting does not help here.

A lot of that crap is plain immersion breaking far worse than Morrowind by the way:

Oblivion NPCs were so terrible that they became a meme which people have made and maybe still make fun off, literally. You can find dozens of not 100s of these by just punching it into the YT search:

But honestly... what does which game came first have to do with CDPR making bad decisions about what active augmentations they choose to bring over from the Cyberpunk pen & paper? Even if they were both influenced by the pen and paper game, his overall observation is that Deus Ex chose better skills to bring over from the pen and paper than CDPR did.

I wouldnt know I never finished a bugthesda game Im just saying what improvments I saw when I pirated it long time ago and you know npcs not standing in the same place for 24/7 are a pretty good improvment if you want a living world. Though loading screens when entering buildings still remain even in Faillout 4 from what I heard :hahano::hahano:.

I pointed out the history of the game, you fucking waste of oxygen, in response to someone going, " herrrr derpppp Why can't CP2077 have the augments of DX in it?" You can't read can you you fucking illiterate piece of shit?

I hate to tell you this you fucking waste of a lifeform but Cyberpunk does not have augments. They have cybernetics which are different. CDPR chose to adhere to the rules and worldbuilding of the creator because they respected him.

His fucking retarded observation about the augments is just that... retarded.

Just admit that you're a fucking idiot that knows nothing about games and the history of it.

Their clay faces are the biggest immersion breaker they look like soulless golems but you can say the same thing about npcs in faillout 4.

Why Failshit 4 now? I thought we were still discussing Morrowind, Oblivion and Gothic? I mean there are not a whole lot here who would disagree that Bethderp games since Oblivion are shit and that Morrowind has lots of glaring faults is hardly a revelation around here either. Likewise as I said before the first two Gothic games are highly regarded here by most, maybe all even. Morrowind has always been a hotly contest topic, some like despite the issues, others don't because of them.

I know very well about the history of both games, their progenitors, and their genre as a whole. When he says "augmentations" as it refers to Cyberpunk 2077 it's pretty clear what he's talking about. If you don't get that you can go ahead and keep hurling asinine insults at anyone who tries to explain something to you.

What Im trying to say is that I belong to the dislikers camp not only of Morrowind but whole bugthesda gayme desing and Im disgusted that their games sell so well especially after rape of Fallout and I hope that Skyrim in space will be another fallout 76.
