Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
All NPCs now scale to your level. Enemy difficulty is no longer dependent on what area of Night City you're in.

Doesn't surprise me at all, 99% of gaming youtubers are morons and their audiences even bigger morons.
Scaling was the worst thing ever couple of months ago with D4 and most youtubers had to have a take. Now ALL of the prerelease reviews magically forgot it's a big deal... sure.

So both the enemies and loot are level scaled now... To think I was actually about to buy this piece of shit, thinking "well, it's finally gonna get finished, might as well give it a playthrough". And then they slap this shit on it. The cardinal sins of any open world game. Even if everything else about it was 10/10 best thing ever, these two alone are enough to turn the game into an irredeemable pile of shit. I'm actually shocked and appalled. Never would I have thought anyone could be so retarded as to """""""improve""""""" a game by level scaling. CDProjekt Retard should be marked as decline-enablers on par with Bethesda. Unbelievable.

Enemy levels and scaling of items recieved don’t make a ton of sense in a game focused on gunplay, it should only be based off armor and load-out etc. that we or that type of enemy could reasonably afford. I know it’s supposed to approximate that, but a “higher level” opponent in a fps is usually just an exercise in tedium where you need to shoot them 500 more times. This seems like a lateral move instead of anything else.

Where is level scaling confirmed for Phantom Liberty? I was considering buying the expansion, but that would be a hard pass from me.

Played for a bit with previous saves. The policemen won't spawn behind you anymore, it's true. Now they'll just spawn the entire car instead. It's pretty funny hearing "CRIMINAL FOUND" on the radio, turning around and seeing a car clipping through the one lane highway.

I went with a level 50 character save at first. Went through the trouble of respecing my skills and buying new cyberware - and enemies still took 3 front close range shotguns shots to kill. It didn't seem that weird until I tried a level 15 save with my points put into netrunning only to find out that enemies would drop like flies there while using a revolver. I don't know why they made it so enemies scale with you, that really wasn't a problem before.

Also for some reason they couldn't kill me on that first save. My HP dropped to 0 but I wouldn't die. Nice to see they took their time to polish this up :lol:

Well, why are there weapon tiers? Don't they have enemy tiers to match your weapons? Maybe enemies now have four tiers instead of levels?

//edit

  • Enemies will have different tiers depending on the faction they belong to.
Okay, so yes, they can have one out of four tiers now instead of levels. I like this approach more. Arasaka goons probably have the highest tier, while street gangsters are tier 1. This is less of a clusterfuck, honestly, and it's more immersive.
