I ... didn’t understand that. Especially the last tweet. Is he being passive-aggressive or should that be taken at face value?
Bethesda announced a highly controversial subscription model for FO76 ($13/month or $100/year, exclusive content for subscribers) and delayed its expansion. MCA is mocking Bethesda while praising TOW.
In the last tweet, disappointment = what happened to the Fallout franchise, and success = TOW's reception.

I didn't understand the "last debt" part, if there is a debt shouldn't Tim be the judge of if its paid or not? :P He felt he had a debt and felt that he fulfilled it with couple of tweets, all by himself?

Thanks, I missed that - have tuned out Beth’s Fallout news since 4. They do seem determined to run the franchise completely to the ground.

You guys sure its not Avellone being sarcastic and trully praising FO76 and dishing TOW?

:stunned:
Why would he do that? Tim and Leonard are his bros, he always was enthusiastic about TOW.

I think you are overthinking this a bit.

I love him to death but we gotta do an intervention before he falls into a drainage ditch and dies in 0.5m of water. There is so much more he can do with his life beyond being pissed off at everyone who wronged him.

I am really curious what mental process lead Bethesda to make this decision. I don't like online games, I don't know that much about them, but even I know that wanting subscription for an actual good online game is a very bad strategy. To request it for a total failure, a game mocked endlessly, broken more than many if not most first attempts by guys in garage is bonkers. It's something that even your inmates in mental hospital would laugh at and say you are a lunatic.

Maybe he wants it to seem that he's doing it for Tim ans Leonard not Obsidian.

Managers. Managers never change.

You see I understand how the greed works. Managers count on whales buying their stuff, no matter how shit it is and hope other gamers have a short term memory. But after each embarrassing failure, after each PR disaster, one would think they learned they are deep into shit and need to do something to win people trust back.

Look at oil industry executives, they are grotesquery evil, yet there is a method to their evil. When the global warming starts pose risk to millionaires, they will be long dead, so it makes some sense for them to end human civilization just to get a little higher into richest people ranking.

But Bethesda managers? They are literary make the worst possible decisions in the row without benefits to them. I would guess that someone contract is expiring soon and that person is at all costs trying to artificially increase Bethesda revenue to improve their CV.

My guess is that they've bled so many of the players they did have for a while, that the majority of people left are full-on whales/autists who obsessively play and horde, and will eat up anything thast's thrown to them.

He's being sarcastic, doesn't mean he's praising one and bashing the other anyway.
He's already let his twitter feed understand back at the announcement of TOW how little consideration he has for people jumping on the "TOW is gonna fuck Bethesda up ahah take that todd !". He was sick of this idea that the good guy Obs got fucked by the bad guy Beth, especially since he already told his own story about the management of good guy Obs.
I see this impressive (again) twitter meltdown, tagging everyone he could, as one of his very enjoyable "fuck it" moments.

"More than 84 metacritic dare I say" what a baller.

he always was enthusiastic about TOW.
Less about how people made it a Obs vs Beth thing, and that's pretty much the point of his tweets.

You're talking about gamers. As long as the next Elder Scrolls is on the level of Skyrim or Oblivion, all is forgiven.

That, and probably experimenting to see what they can get away with in TES6 and its' inevitable FO76 equivalent.
