He wasn't denying the accusations at the time. Can't expect studios to stick their neck out and defend the dude who isn't even defending himself.
With practice, they are~~In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Almost all studios dropped him like a hot potato except Owlcat who did the least what Avellone deserved and asked to wait until evidence would come out. It never did.He wasn't denying the accusations at the time. Can't expect studios to stick their neck out and defend the dude who isn't even defending himself.
Communists like Dalton Trumbo wrote under pseudonyms in Hollywood during the Red Scare.MCA could probably still write, even for games, under a pseudonym. Combine with a discreet NDA and any studio eager for his work could probably get away with it.
We'd know, though. Codex would sniff him out.
Wait, that sounded weird.
Cristoforo d'Avellino, Neapolitan writer extraordinaire. Fresh off the boat seeking his fame and fortune in the land of opportunity.MCA could probably still write, even for games, under a pseudonym.

Avellone refuses to work for Obsidian as long as Feargus Urquhart is CEO and Feargus is not giving up his job for this. The only thing that could slightly improve nu-Obsidian would be firing their writing team left, right and center then having the likes of Avellone back on a permanent basis. It would amount to an instant recovery of one of their historic strengths which is currently a glaring weakness.
Such a mind numbing political decision it was to rather pay the salaries of an office of aimless broads when they could have the likes Chris or somebody, anybody, else churning out words.

Hey as long as you're reading that thread could you find the video linked in it that is of someone singing chris avellone's complaints to the tune of:
I hope that it's linked in that thread and not buried in some random megathread somewhere.
That thread is, arguably, on the of the best threads on here. You should really read just for how Chris knows how to keep you interested in what he has to say (pacing) and how he writes. It's a glorious thread.I ended up giving up on the thread and just reading the doc that collected all Avellone's reponses, unfortunately.
