The "right" way: "Yes Ivy, I know you were a party to my brother's kidnapping, brutal torture and murder, tried to manipulate me for your gain and attempted to have me killed when I proved inconvenient, but you feel sad about it so I forgive you. Now lemme smash."

Considering that Marvin is dense as typical jap harem show MC it is probably his only chance to tap da pussy.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
That's just plain tragic. They will never be able to make something worthwhile as long as they work for a big company. If they wanted money, they could've started their own project and asked for donations. Just look at how popular this thing is, I have no doubt that they would've successfully kickstarted it. My guess is that majority of the team went through a severe burnout over the years and went: "Fuck it, I do what I want to do".

Yeah, if they had formed their own indie studio and made Gothic-like RPGs of their own, they would easily be able to fund initial development through Kickstarter or Patreon just from goodwill they earned with this mod.
And they obviously would have no issue working on something without pay for a while, either, so money isn't the biggest obstacle here.

It would be a guaranteed bestseller for an indie studio.

As much as I love this game, I hope it'll end soon. Whenever I think I'm close to wrapping up, I get a barrage of new quests. Starting to feel like a chore. I've been overpowered for around 40% of the playthrough by now. I keep hearing the voice of Irenicus in my head... "must I be interrupted at every turn?!". Looking forward to the end dungeon though, bet it'll be great.

Making final preparations to go to what I assume will be the end dungeon. One question:

I've received provisions from these people. But I think I'm missing something, because the "Rainy Day Stash" achievement doesn't unlock, and the journal hasn't updated. Do you know of anyone else we can get provisions from?

At maximum you are 6 hours away from completing the game. I think you've got everyone, the achievment doesn't unlock until you actually enter Vardhal.

However, Vardhal is not the final dungeon, the final dungeons is
burning Archolos

Money is the least of people's problem in 21st century. Whether we are talking about building rockets and going to space or making Quality.TM RPGs, in time when your food, shelter and technology is provided and all you gotta do is live modest life for few years before making name for yourself, money isn't secret ingredient. Its is passion. Always was

These Poles clearly had passion. No-one working for CD Projekt does so for anything other but two things: 1) salary 2)putting CD Projekt on his resume. Those that work for passion, quickly lose it when middle manager #37 tosses into garbage can their 16th good game level/innovative feature/quest-line because game got re-written again because Marcin Iwinski or Kachinski or some other "bright" idea guy got new "great" idea that he wants you to implement. Oh and btw, he'll change his mind next week again, and you'll start all over again. Soul-sucking hell where passion for anything but making money dies

At big studios you are paid Sysyphus. That quickly kills any passion, promotes hierarchical ass-kissing and makes all future games bad

  • Already spoke with Viktor, that only triggered the dog quest. Maybe you're thinking of Bastian?
  • Already spoke with Runar, no new dialogue options (and I did do his quest).
  • I don't remember any Pablo. Do you know where he's at?
  • Forgot about Rupert. Got provisions from him now, thanks! Still not enough though.

What's up with all this dexfagotry in mod? Why can't a guy find a single one handed strength weapon.
DEX melee and STR ranged was already a thing in NotR, they just made it so pretty much every combination of stat and weapon skill is represented more or less equally. There's plenty of STR 1h. As is always the case with loot, if you spec for STR 1h, all you will find is DEX 1h and vice versa.

To be honest,i too would go for the cunt over the dumb brother. I would prefer the side of the chad wolfs over joining the most useless group of the most useless god lol. Funny how people salivate and screech about CnC yet the game have zero of it in its main quest lol.

Anyway, I've found "open lock" rune and decided to free citizens of Archolos of their possessions. The fire mages have a blueprint for an extremely strong one handed sword in their quarters.

If you complete arena in the slums you will get a decent one handed sword. There's a good sword that is guarded by undead paladins and skeleton mage, it's in a tomb in a graveyard to the west of entrance to Vardhal valley. In chapter 3 and onwards good one handed weapons will start appearing in merchants inventories. But frankly, I think that dexterity weapons are pretty crazy in Archolos, just look at this thing:

For comparison, the strongest one handed strength sword I've ever seen looks like this:

Dex weapons have higher damage because when you score a critical hit strenght is added to damage not dexterity so to compensate they made dex weapons have higher damage. Still I think 160 damage strenght weapon would have higher dps than this with all the critical hits.

Did you do "Queen of thorns"? Also, you can't warn him about the orks.

Doesn't ring a bell. Don't remember doing any quests from Victor. Must've missed out on it by not speaking with him in one of the chapters.

Apparently Ezekiel should give me provisions as well, but he doesn't. I helped him bury his daughter, and set up a merchant stall.

Those are the two best 1h for each stat, yeah. Given that damage formula for melee is weapon damage + STR on crits (divided by 10 on non-crits), pure ore would deal 420 damage when you are ready to equip it while sailor woud deal 290 assuming no STR bonuses at all. You would need 140 STR on top of 175 DEX for sailor to deal the same damage as pure ore at 200 STR, no DEX required.

Given the insane amount of bonuses you can get throughout the game, I wouldn't be surprised if combining strength and dexterity gives you the biggest numbers, however I'm not sure about this. Here are my stats just before the final boss fight. I imagine that it's actually possible to get the best of both.

There's tons of bonuses yeah, but I don't think enough to make getting both 175 DEX and 140 STR easier than just 200 STR. We are talking a 25 point difference between DEX and STR reqs, I don't think getting a different stat from 10 to 140 is easier than just 25 more into one stat. Pure STR seems like it's still the way to go for pure melee as it should be. No way to tell for 100% sure until we get a spreadsheet of all perma bonuses in-game, but I'm pretty sure. I will adjust my judgment when I finish the game, I'm doing pure DEX ranged so I will have a pretty good idea I think.

Edit: We also have to keep in mind improving both would involve buying out all perma bonuses for both, which would pretty damn expensive, it's already pretty expensive to buy everything for one stat. On the other hand DEX has some other minor perks over STR like not breaking picks (which is actually pretty important as breaking picks can wake up sleeping NPCs, much easier to steal when it's not the case), free acrobatics when you reach about 90-100 and better ranged damage if you care.

What is the highest stat that you could buy from a trainer ? The game seems to go pretty retarded with stats later on. They should have gone for maybe 120 max in training,150 at most.

Also it seems that the latest patch fucked up the game,i am stuck at the end room in the fortress in chapter 5. I open the door, three fucks run in to talk, then the dialogue doesn't start and we look in to each other for eternity. Too much scripted garbage in this mod, pure decline.

I had that happen to me a few times last week, so it's nothing to do with the latest patch. It worked eventually, it took a few reloads though.

I didn't have a torch equipped on the attempt that worked, but more likely to be to do with where Marvin moves to during the cutscene.

Hearing that the devs sold themselves to cdpr is depressing. Another small group of incredible potential is swallowed by another big soulless company. They all probably think that this is a dream come true. Fuck cdpr.

People rage about it, but 99% of people in this thread would have done the exact same thing if they were offered a (probably) well paid job.

Talent alone fills no bellies nor pays rents or mortgages.

That said they probably could have found success as an indie studio.
