Case in point, I just crawled with my face over sandpaper in the mission that is preceded by Seth committing suicide by Kane, and I simply don't remember having to go through anything as difficult before. You start with 6 riflemens and 4 rocketmens, have to kill some grenadiers, riflemens and a medtank to call in a chopper, sell a half-destroyed base to get engineers, take them over a river to cap a minimal GDI base surrounded on all sides by all sorts of ridiculously annoying troops, and then withstand the almost unending meatgrinder of incoming grenadiers, humvees and medtanks, and that's without even mentioning the constant airstrike spam on your harvester.

I had to restart this shit like 5 or 6 times and micro manage my every move with split-second precision to squeeze the most optimal outcomes of that terrible, terrible starting situation for like the first 15 or so minutes of the mission. Once you build up it's smooth sailing, of course, especially since you retain the transport chopper and can drop engineers into the main GDI base, but the beginning is nothing short of complete hell - it's one wrong move and you're dead, simple as that.

Oh, that one. It's the one I mentioned previously, which made me RAEG about the airstrikes.

What's the easy mode setting like, does it nerf the insane difficulty ramp of many C&C missions?

I could never actually complete any C&C game until Red Alert 3.

There's a game-breaking bug in the final Soviet mission. When the enemy sends a Radar Jammer unit to your base (around 30 minutes into the match), all units and structures become permanently invulnerable. I don't know if it happens without exception or not, but restarting the mission didn't help in my case.

FYI, I didn't run into that one.

C&C5 that completely ignores the BS that was C&C4 would be great. TibSun remaster that makes units not look microscopic on modern resultions would great as well.

Obvously a strong hint at SOMETHING is about to be revealed on the stream. There's also been other official DICE and EA devs on forums hinting at new C&C releases. I can't be bothered to find it, but im sure u can sniff it out.

It's funny, last time I played TibDawn must have been within the last 5 years, possibly 3, and while I remembered the NOD campaign being rough at times, mostly because of the disproportion of forces (grenadiers and medtanks wreck your face something vicious before you get light and flame tanks) and aimbot airstrike spam, but playing the remaster now, some of the missions are just soul-crushingly difficult. It might be that I didn't play on hard before (did TibDong even have difficulty settings?), but that seems almost impossible.

I did not find this mission that difficult. Commando kills everything infantry, and rocketmen kill everything like tanks, provided the tanks aggro the minigun. Do not attack with the minigun as the soldier gets so close that it triggers the "I will crush you routine". I also remember there is a cash box somewhere in this level.

I had much more troubles with Sick & Dieing (Mission 7 when you don't choose Orca Theft). When I played years ago, I remember being stuck on Orca Theft totally, reloading back and doing Sick and Dieing instead and finding it doable.

What is the name of the mission in the mission replay menu ?

Overall, I find the base game missions easy, the console missions trivial, but the expansion missions go from "hard" to "insane".

Ah yes. I did 8A and did have your level of frustration, though indeed the very beginning is quite iffy and even RNG driven due to the grenadiers (the tank itself is trivial if you have at least one gunner left). I had to restart the beginning quite a few times because of the good damn 2xgrenadiers.
Once I got the helicopter & engineer, I had no difficulty whatsoever*. Machine-gun turrets just slice through the enemy infantry, and an handful of RPG men (and later motorbikes) destroy the tanks easy peasy.

*One exception : I got f**cked I think in this level because the AI lands engineers behind your line, though maybe it is another map ? I remember having an instant game-over due to that.

Done for NOD, though I haven't finished the GDI campaign (or the very last NOD mission) because I wanted to move to the extra missions I never did (and those I tried in Normal so far)

Yeah, I feel like it is more the first 2 minutes of the missions that is frustrating, but I suspect that you can easily be surprised by the dudes around the GDI base to be captured if you did not bring a couple flame troopers or make sure to capture the harvester at the same time as the refinery.

"Terrible starting situation" is correct.

The way I did it in the end was land with two flamers and the engineers, cap the base, immediately lay down a rax and get some grenadiers, then put up two guard towers and take it from there. After that by far the worst part was keeping the fucking harvester alive because the Tiberium fields were crawling with humvees, and then there are the airstrikes that bring it down to 25% hp, and which can ONLY be countered by save-scumming the positioning of your rocket dudes. Also had to micro-manage the flamers at all times with superhuman precision to aid the guard towers, because in my experience they get blown up ridiculously fast by enemy grenadiers.

Tbh, it would be much easier if the flamer AI wasn't so completely fucking broken, but they need to be micro'd at literally every step they take, and even more, because sometimes they will just straight up refuse to shoot shit when ordered to do so too...

I really don't remember the Humvee being a problem, but I tend to build a lot of motorcycles, which I find better in the Remaster than I remember in the original (due to instant reaction time), and a bunch of bikers remove humvees in a few seconds.

Actually, with 5 motocycles you can remove a mammoth tank with no loss on your side and minimum micro (you just need to pull back the damage motocycle by the end of the combat before it is finished).

If this is the mission I remember correctly (the one where you have to fly chinook with engies to capture gdi base) i just suicide rushed his base with apc and engies, sold my conyard, captured his, captured war factory and other shit out of his advanced tower range, built minimal shit in my own base and sold his conyard before he could destroy it, then it became a battle of attrition.

Correct. GDI sucks like this.

I just don't remember having issues with humvees. I remember being frustrated because IIRC you don't have helos in that mission but GDI has.

Also speaking of this, TibSun might be the only one of the bunch that actually needs a remaster/fix, given all the stuff in it that doesn't work or is broken. Off the top of my head: promotions that do nothing, attack bikes that can't target air, aimbot on NOD artillery (at least the latter two were fixed in Firestorm).
